During the live-streamed Jujutsu Kaisen 5th Anniversary Special, a new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 was released, confirming a January 2026 premiere. The new season, officially titled Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game, will be exclusively streamed by Crunchyroll.

The new trailer offers a glimpse into the next arc of the series, following the devastating events of the “Shibuya Incident.” The footage shows Yuji Itadori grappling with feelings of conflict and despair, believing he has killed many people during the incident.

Viewers also see a fierce confrontation between Yuji and Yuta Okkotsu, the protagonist from the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The teaser also highlights a heated exchange between the new character Naoya Zen’in and Choso. The trailer builds anticipation for the start of the deadly “Culling Game” with brief appearances from returning characters Megumi Fushiguro, Yuki Tsukumo, and Maki Zen’in.

What to expect from The Culling Game Arc

In the manga, The Culling Game is an arc central to many characters, but none more so than our girl Maki. The arc gets its name from the game that the characters take part in – a clear inspiration from Hunter X Hunter, which Gege Akutami, the series mangaka and creator, has confirmed.

The Culling Game Arc is the ninth arc in the series. It follows the protagonists, Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and their allies, as they enter the Culling Game with the intention of rescuing Tsumiki Fushiguro from participating, freeing Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm, and protecting Tengen from Kenjaku. But that’s as much as we’ll say, as the longest of Akutami’s arcs is going to be one better left unspoiled.

While the new season won’t kick off until the start of the Winter 2026 Anime season, fans can get an early taste of what’s to come in JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution. Teased at the beginning of the Chainsaw Man The Movie Reze Arc, the compilation of Season 3 episodes will hit select theaters starting December 5, 2025.

Like other shonen in-theater experiences, JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution will give audiences a sneak peek at the first two episodes of the ‘Culling Game Arc’ in a cinematic format. This special presentation bridges the end of the Shibuya Incident with the next chapter, offering fans a chance to celebrate the upcoming season together on the big screen.

Based on the best-selling manga written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, JUJUTSU KAISEN follows the story of Yuji Itadori, a high school student with immense physical strength who consumes a cursed object to save a classmate, thereby becoming a vessel for the powerful curse Ryomen Sukuna.

Guided by the strongest sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, Yuji enrolls in Tokyo Jujutsu High School to fight against curses, embarking on a heroic journey from which he can never turn back. The manga series concluded in September 2024 with over 100 million copies in circulation, and is published and localized in English by VIZ Media in the US.
