Crunchyroll Has Announced The Release Date For ‘Dan Da Dan’

One of the most highly-anticipated anime series, Dan Da Dan, has gotten its release date. The coming-of-age science fiction and horror anime will premiere in October 2024 on Crunchyroll. The series will be simulcast worldwide from Japan on Crunchyroll, excluding Asia, with new episodes every week.

From Science SARU, the anime is based on the popular manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. The manga series currently has over 370 million views on Shueisha’s “Shonen Jump Plus” and over 3.2 million print volumes in circulation. The production team is firing from all cylinders for this adaptation, too. From the stacked voice cast with some of the most recognizable talents in the industry to Science SARU veterans, there’s an immense amount of incredible talent on board. The trailer showcases the studios signature kinetic animations style.

What is Dan Da Dan About

This is a story about Momo, a high school girl who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic. One day, Momo rescues Okarun from bullies and they begin talking. However, an argument ensues between them since Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens exist, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts exist.

To prove to each other what they believe in is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been spotted and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, they each encounter overwhelming paranormal activities that transcend comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love begins as well!?
