Additionally, The Silver Seas, Age of Wonders 4, will be free to play on Steam and XBOX starting November 5, 2026, and running through the weekend. In addition, the Manta Update, a new free content and quality patch, is available today for all Age of Wonders 4 players, including vast improvements to water gameplay, both on the world map and in combat; new options for a piracy pantheon, a new trade system, new Form Traits, and a host of bug fixes and balance updates.

What to expect from The Silver Seas DLC?

Age of Wonders 4: Expansion Pass 4

“The Silver Seas” is an expansion that lets players explore oceans and the mysteries in them, all while expanding the treasures that players can obtain. The expansion centers around the new Mercantile culture, built on turning every deal, alliance, and rivalry into profit. This expansion also places cities on both land and sea, and expands your influence, always getting more out of the bargain than anyone else.

Players can choose between two ruthless subcultures:

  • Cartel: Masters of information and manipulation who run camouflaged smuggling routes and turn stolen leverage into battlefield advantage.
  • Barony: The wealthy trade princes and nobles who command armies and place bounties on their enemies.
  • New Races: Two New Forms to conquer the seas, the elegant and otherworldly near-human Aqualon, and the monstrous, toothy, battle-hungry Sharkkin

Age of Wonders 4: Expansion Pass 4

  • New Tomes: Four New Tomes providing the power to manipulate the waterways, plunder your rivals, summon the souls of the damned, and even freeze the ocean itself

  • New Map: New World Map Content including a pirate dwelling with a variety of possible captains at the helm, each with their own personalities, benefits, demands, and stories to tell. The map is also awash in new aquatic events, Landmarks, Ancient Wonders, and Infestations of the sea, and a new Magic Material to fuel your empire

  • New Units: New Wildlife Units from electric crabs to schools of frenzied fish and more

What is in Age of Wonders 4: Expansion Pass 4 Roadmap?

Age of Wonders 4 Expansion Pass 4

With the launch of the new Expansion Pass, Paradox has also shared the roadmap for what’s coming to the game next, which you can find below:

  • Singer of Storms DLC: The Singer of Storms pack unlocks with the purchase of Expansion Pass 4, and it also marks the start of the game’s expansion into the ocean.
  • The Silver Seas DLC: This maritime expansion is available on November 3, 2026; you can find more information below.
  • Court of the Archfey DLC: In “Court of the Archfey,” players will wander the wild woods and embrace their true natures. This is expected in the first quarter of 2027 and will bring a new Ruler Type, Story Realms, and more that hasn’t been announced just yet. The whimsical theming will allow players to “weave magics of glamour and illusion, forge alliances with the spirits of the deepwood, and bend the changing seasons to their will.”
  • Forge of the Firstborn DLC: This expansion will let players craft glorious dwarven empires and mighty creations and is set to release in the second quarter of 2027. This expansion will focus on customization and crafting, featuring new customization options, a new form, new story realms, new tomes, and a new forge mechanic.

What is the release date?

Expansion Pass 4 is available today for a suggested retail price of $49.99 USD; players will need to purchase the base game separately on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
