Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 is wrapped, and with it came plenty to get hyped about. From big hit titles like Final Fantasy VII Revelation to unknown indies like Lofsöng, there is something for everyone here. With over 35 games on display, and many receiving release dates/windows within the coming year, there is a lot to look forward to, and much of it will be here before we know it.

What we saw during the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026
Nodus Fall

A dark fantasy co-op game that tasks players with teaming up to slay mystical monsters. From HoYoverse, the makers of Live-service games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, the game is a surprising departure from what we’ve come to expect from the developer.
Looking like a Monster Hunter-style game, the trailer shows players teaming up to take on massive enemies. Some gorgeous cinematics, depicting both narrative and combat, seem to give the game massive scale and a captivating look.
TARAE: The Unbound

In this first-look trailer, the game brings a dark eastern fantasy setting with cinematic storytelling and combines it with what looks like action-heavy, top-down combat. The trailer does a good job introducing its world and giving players a taste of what to expect.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics

A single-player turn-based tactics game set in the iconic Rainbow Six universe, developed by Ubisoft Paris. Players form teams of unique Rainbow members who use special abilities and weapons to take down opponents. Battles appear to play out in highly destructible levels, allowing for lots of potential strategic options for players to implement.
The trailer also hints at a larger narrative that interlinks the individual missions. If all these elements can come together, the game could be a great new entry in the franchise when it drops in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The Defiant

An FPS that focuses on the often-overlooked Chinese/Japanese conflict that played out in World War II. Told from the Chinese point of view, no gameplay is shown, but the tone builds the expectation of a highly romanticized look at combat and heroics.
Gears of War: E-Day

With its release date of October 6th fast approaching, we got another look at this anticipated Gears of War prequel story. This trailer focuses on the story and emotional center of the experience. Gears has always been able to pull at heartstrings when it wants to, and it looks like the darkness that followed in the wake of D-Day will be filled with plenty of rough spots between blazing firefights, from what this trailer shows.
Roco Kingdom

The Chinese multiplayer open-world creature collector is launching globally on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The trailer showcases bright colors and a large variety of critters to catch in its brief look at the game.
Ananta
Developer: Naked Rain Studio

Big reveals happened for this upcoming free-to-play open-world game. Along with an official release date of January 15, 2027, we also got a look at the game’s second major urban area, Chongxiao. The trailer highlights a healthy dose of humor as it follows its protagonist through scenarios both bizarre and absurd. Whether or not the game will be able to pair its humor with a compelling story and satisfying gameplay loop will be the big question.
The urban landscapes showcased throughout the trailer look gorgeous. The massive scale seems impressive, and with two full cities shown, the game seems like it will have a lot of content. And we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
The game is set to release on PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
No Law

This trailer for the upcoming cyberpunk FPS emphasizes player choice within its combat. Demonstrating loads of different tactics players can employ for taking down their enemies and crafting their own version of the main character. The game is slated for a 2027 launch.
Tides of Annihilation

Along with confirmation that Angela Sant’Albano (Resident Evil Requiem) will take over as lead character Gwendolan, we also got a new trailer highlighting the dramatic tone of the game as we see the lead accept her quest by claiming control of The Fog and learning to command her knights.
The gameplay looks dynamic and fun, with one sequence even showcasing a dragon-riding sequence. The scale of the game looks huge as well. One scene showed a giant carving a building in half with a sword, grandly and dramatically.
Lego Skylines

A cozy city builder, this trailer brings the familiar playful energy Lego games are known for to the city-builder genre. The game aims to start players small and let them grow their city into a full metropolis, with all the customization one would expect from Lego. The game is set to come to PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Lofsöng

A new visually striking indie adventure game from Italian publisher Unrelated Games. The tonal presence of the visuals delivers a beautiful thematic vibe to the brief trailer. The visuals carry an ominous energy while also creating a sense of wonder about what has happened to the depicted world.
The purposeful use of color draws the eye to particular elements like the player character, further emphasizing the artistic expression that feels likely to infuse the game.
Road Kings

The trailer showcases some of the challenges players can be expected to navigate in this truck driving simulator from Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive. Along with a look at the game itself, it also brings a launch date of March 11, 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
Mega Man: Dual Override

A trailer for the upcoming Mega Man game that showcases new twists to the classic Blue Bomber’s gameplay. Along with some bright, vibrant level designs, Mega Man also looks upgradable with different armors that seem to provide new powers. Old allies like his dog Rush and Protoman are also briefly seen.
Petit Planet

Despite delivering a winter 2026 launch window, the trailer doesn’t actually show any gameplay for the upcoming HoYoverse game. However, there are plenty of cozy vibes and friendship building highlighted within the brief trailer.
Rayman Legends Retold

Highlighting gorgeous visuals and music that seems to play out in tune with the action, this revisit of a classic looks great in its newest trailer. We get to see a couple of different environments, but a consistent fun energy flows through every jump, smash, and leap taken by Ubisoft’s adorable mascot character. It’s clear that Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are leading a passionate group of developers that want to see Rayman shine.
Afterworld

A new grand strategy game from Paradox Interactive. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic U.S.A., players look to reunite the country’s warring factions through diplomacy and combat, while discovering lost tech from the “Old World.”
Game of Thrones: War for Westeros

A real-time strategy game set in the popular fantasy universe of George R.R. Martin. The trailer features looks at several different factions, each led by an iconic character. Jon Snow, Dany, and Jamie Lannister are all seen leading armies of various troop types, and in one case: a dragon, as they battle for the fate of a continent.
Silver Palace

The upcoming live-service game showcased narrative, action, traversal, and a haunting tone as it introduces a new narrative for its protagonist to explore. Style and flash are in abundance within the trailer, as it showcases everything the game looks to offer from its many elements.
Dust: Origins

Announced by developer Airship Syndicate (The Ruined King: A League of Legends Story), this isometric top-down action game tasks players with escaping from a prison station that is coming undone. Huge monsters and armed foes are seen wreaking havoc on the station. The trailer drives home the promise of intense gameplay and loads of action. It is currently up on Kickstarter for those interested in backing.
1001 Threads of Mizan

A 1-3 player co-op action game set in a grand Arabian fantasy setting. Humans and Djinn are pitted against each other, and the players must fight to defend their world. The scope and ambition look grand, as everything in this trailer sings of high adventure and action.
Exodus

A new trailer with an official release date of April 7, 2027, and is arriving on PlayStation 5. Xbox Series X|S. The latest trailer shows off some slick-looking squad-based gameplay and gorgeous world design while centering the trailer on the crew member Salt.
A sentient octopus who drives a mech in combat. The character seems to have a strained relationship with the player in this trailer, along with a complicated history that has taken them far from their home world.
PUBG: DED.NET

A new PVP FPS, the game aims to deliver a new experience by blending roguelite elements with its action gameplay. Players will fight through multi-match runs, building their kits and fighting off their opponents. The trailer heavily emphasizes customization, along with plenty of attitude to match its mid-nineties setting.
Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons

A third-person, single-player action/adventure game set in the iconic fantasy universe. The game centers on a titular warlock who has made a pact to gain considerable magical power. The trailer showcases how the game looks, allowing players a flexible array of magic to punish foes by manipulating the elements and world to their advantage.
While the gameplay looks impressive, some sequences feel like they would be difficult to pull off in regular gameplay, giving them a scripted feel. With a release window of 2027, though, perhaps more glimpses will be coming sooner rather than later to answer some questions.

Bringing new story moments, expanded voice-over work, and more, Many players have already found tons to love with the game, and this newest iteration seems like a great way to try to entice more to join them. Crimson Desert Enhanced Edition is available now on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The latest entry in the long-running franchise got a new trailer. It’s due out in February 2027 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The Ukrainian-made game hints at its story by showing the protagonist searching for someone through the gutted, grim world of Metro. The energy and world design will be familiar to fans as the harsh setting has clearly lost none of its brutal tone.
Hitman The Herbalist Featuring Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg is coming to Hitman: World of Assassination as an elusive target. From what the trailer shows, it appears Agent 47 will have to infiltrate a commercial shoot to reach his target. Seemingly playing out at a tropical beach, the setting looks fun and vibrant, with lots of potential ways for the agent to get his kill.

Red Octane announced its new rhythm game is coming December 10, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The familiar cascading notes and cartoon vibe are sure to have long-time fans hyped for its rapidly approaching release. Pumping itself up with an impressive number of songs and modes, it looks like rhythm game fans will have lots to rock out with over this holiday season.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour

The new trailer offers a first look at the game’s multiplayer. While not many details are shown, the speed and chaos you would expect look to be on display. Aerial stunts and flashy effects look to amp up the high-speed shenanigans as four players bounce and swerve through traffic chasing fares.

A new trailer for the dino-themed shooter dropped. Showcasing some of the game’s plot, it dives into the Order of the Turok and their mission to protect humanity using enhanced physical gifts. Deviating widely from past entries in the franchise, it will be interesting to see what this game looks like as more information is revealed.

Coming to early access on PC and Xbox Series X|S on November 2, 2026, a 1-4 player co-op shooter from independent developer/publisher Octopus Panic. This game features anthropomorphic dogs that are gathering resources from alien worlds.
They seem to be gathering these elements so they can return to their home planet. The trailer showcases various dogs you can play as, as well as several upgrade trees for customizing how your dog plays.
Ontos

A first look at the new game from Frictional Games, out on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027. This trailer showcases some of the twisted situations players will have to navigate as they search for a way through the game’s challenges. With consequences for their actions, players will need to think carefully when confronting these uncomfortable situations.
Pony Island 2: Panda Circus

Little coherence can be made out from the trailer, but the confusion it leaves in its wake creates a sense of curiosity about what it could all potentially be about.
Zoopunk

A new action RPG game featuring several playable characters in multiplayer squad combat. Each character brings their own unique move sets. The brief trailer shows some lush scenery and solid glimpses of gameplay as both small and larger foes are confronted.

There are No Ghosts at the Grand

A unique-looking game that promises a different energy to its play pattern. Tasking players with renovating by day and solving ethereal mysteries by night, the game looks to bring something special. Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past/Withcer 3 Remastered

A look at the upcoming DLC expansion due out next year; the trailer doesn’t give away much, but it does reestablish the classic dark fantasy energy of The Witcher franchise, making it feel right at home with the rest of the game.
Opening Night Live also announced The Witcher 3 Remastered. Bringing tons of technical and gameplay revamps, this looks to be the definitive way to experience one of the defining RPG experiences. Bundled with both prior expansions and a free update for players who already own Witcher 3, this looks like a great way for new players to experience this beloved classic, and returners to have a reason to jump back in.
Final Fantasy VII: Revelation

A new look at the upcoming finale to the FFVII trilogy, along with a confirmed spring 2027 launch window. The trailer focuses on Cloud and the gang as they battle the Weapons: Ruby, Emerald, and Ultima. These bosses look immense, and the trailer showcases tons of cinematic storytelling around these encounters, as one would expect from this highly narrative franchise.
