Nexon’s free-to-play fantasy MMORPG Mabinogi has teamed up with popular Japanese fantasy manga and anime series Frieren Beyond Journey’s End for an adventure-filled limited-time event available now through March 6. The crossover offers players two exciting events and more, providing opportunities to explore special activities, earn unique rewards, and experience content inspired by Frieren Beyond Journey’s End.

Released in 2008, Mabinogi is an immersive free-to-play MMORPG world where mystical adventures await. Its focus on anime-inspired heroes lends itself well to this collab, with members of Frieren’s party now entering the realm of Mabinogi in this special event.

Select from dozens of talents ranging from professional gunslingers and archers to musicians, tailors and cooks while in Mabinogi year-round, not just for this special event. Players can enjoy the game on their own terms, taking the perilous path of an adventurer or building a thriving business using unique trade skills.

What can players expect from this Mabinogi x Frieren Beyond Journey’s End collab?

The crossover offers two exciting events for players to participate in, giving plenty to do over the month-long span of this exciting collaborative partnership.

Frieren Beyond Journey’s End Crossover Event

Frieren and her party of adventurers hear there are fascinating grimoires with unique spells in Erinn, inspiring them to visit. Players can join Frieren’s party on their journey to Erinn—meet other travelers, explore incredible sights, and help those in need along the way. Rewards include Special Serie’s Outfit, Special Himmel’s Outfit, and Homestead Clean Status of Himmel the Hero.

Mabinogi x Frieren Beyond Journey’s End Erinn-go-Round

The popular Erinn-go-Round has returned, inviting Milletians to journey across Erinn and roll the dice to earn exclusive rewards and items inspired by the crossover. Players do not want to miss earning points daily, which reset each morning at 7:00 AM PST.

These special events add an extra dose of fun for Mabinogi users going into the strange transitional period from winter into spring. With Frieren and company joining along on the journey, there will be plenty for players to dive into and distract themselves from the outside world.

More About Frieren Beyond Journey’s End

The elven mage Frieren is a former member of a party of adventurers who defeated the Demon King and restored harmony to the world after a ten-year quest. The party also consists of the human hero Himmel, the dwarven warrior Eisen, and the human priest Heiter. Before they part, they observe the Era Meteors, a meteor shower that occurs once every fifty years. Frieren agrees to see the group again and offers them an improved view of the next occurrence of the Era Meteors. Frieren departs and travels the world in pursuit of magical knowledge.

Fifty years pass, and Frieren finds much has changed in the human world, with many of her companions having aged drastically. She expresses regret over the loss of Himmel, with whom she realizes she knew hardly anything. Through new companions Fern, an orphaned child, and Stark, a young warrior boy Eisen had taught, and in pursuit of the opportunity to see Himmel one more time, Frieren’s journey reflects the uniqueness of her elven lineage and what it means to be human and live.

Our writer shared their thoughts: “One of the greatest triumphs that makes Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End deserve to be Anime of the Year is how it adapts Frieren’s perspective of time so we may better appreciate her character. With the season opener encapsulating 70 years, 50 of which are delivered through a beautifully executed montage, we get a taste of how quickly those years pass for the thousand-year-old mage.”
