The Unstoppable Wasp Interview Jeremy Whitley

We have a bonus episode this week! With the help of Ash, from the Safari Zone Podcast and Skyhoppers, we sat down to talk with Jeremy Whitley, writer of Marvel’s The Unstoppable Wasp, to talk about everything about the character. We talk about the representation of mental health in comics, all the work that goes into creating an authentic voice for such a diverse cast of young women around Nadia van Dyne, how he wanted to respect Janet van Dyne with this legacy character, and more! If you’ve been wanting to learn more about all that goes into writing this comic, take a listen now!

With good representation of mental health in comics sparse, Jeremy Whitley aimed to write a hero who had problems he knew others out there would have too. Wasp’s story isn’t about fixing who she is, but acknowledging that she was never broken to begin with. Dive into The Unstoppable Wasp with us and Jeremy Whitely now.

About The Unstoppable Wasp: Nadia spent the entire first half of her life a captive of the Red Room, but now this teenage super-scientist is spreading her wings! Hank Pym’s daughter has a lot of time to make up for, and she’s determined to change the world. With Jarvis at her side, she’s on a mission to bring together the brightest girl geniuses of the Marvel Universe – starting with Lunella Lafayette, the miraculous Moon Girl! But Nadia didn’t count on evil scientists, man-eating giant rats or Devil Dinosaur – or the lethal lady wrestlers known as the Grapplers! And even as Nadia’s recruiting drive continues, the Red Room is on her trail – and they’ll pull out all the stops to get her back! Can the geniuses of G.I.R.L. find a way to save Nadia from being dragged back to the bunker?
