The World’s Debate returned last week, with EA Sports FC 27 revealing the FC 27 MLS player ratings. Ratings Week is always a blast, and EA Sports FC always gives the international football community something to debate about: the stats and rankings of the world’s top players.
If you’re unfamiliar, EA Sports assigns player ratings using “authentic match data.” In this year’s game, EA Sports has to assign ratings to over 21,000 players across more than 800 clubs and national teams. Last year’s release of EA Sports FC marked the start of some changes in the game, and EA Sports FC 27 is going to be even more different.
The FC 27 MLS player ratings come after the developers released the Top 27 players for both men’s and women’s players in the game. And while the MLS didn’t dominate that list, Inter Miami is dominating this one.
Lionel Messi holds the top spot at 89 OVR, placing him among the highest-rated players in the entire game. At 39 years old and heading into his fourth full MLS season with Inter Miami, the Argentine is still one of the best players in the world. His 93 goals across 109 matches for the Herons are impressive, but it was his performance at the World Cup that reaffirmed why so many people believe he is the GOAT.
Lewandowski comes in at #2 in the FC 27 MLS Player ratings for his first season in the league.

Messi leads the way, but three of the top five players all wear pink. Inter Miami’s summer addition of Casemiro from Manchester United, who arrived as a free agent after his contract expired, gives the defending MLS Cup champions a five-time Champions League winner at CDM.
The Brazilian made his debut in late July and slots in at 83 OVR. Messi’s Argentina national team counterpart, Rodrigo De Paul, who scored the clinching goal in the 2025 MLS Cup final, matches him at 83 with four goals and four assists through 15 starts this season.
Beyond Miami, the top 10 has some impressive new names. Robert Lewandowski moved to the Chicago Fire from Barcelona this summer and scored twice on his home debut, earning an 84 OVR.
Son Heung Min comes in at an 81 OVR in the FC 27 MSL Player Ratings after his All-Star Game MVP performance.

Heung Min Son, now in his second full MLS season with LAFC after a decade at Tottenham Hotspur, comes in at 81 following an MLS All-Star Game MVP performance last month. Thomas Müller, the 2014 World Cup winner, has been one of the best attacking midfielders in the league since joining Vancouver last August, tallying six goals and two assists in 16 regular-season appearances this season.
Antoine Griezmann moved to Orlando City this summer after a lengthy career in Spain. The 2018 World Cup winner and Atletico Madrid’s all-time leading scorer joined the Lions in July and scored on his debut. He hasn’t made up for the team’s defensive issues; he doesn’t play centerback after all, but he has helped elevate the attack.
Rounding out the top 10, LAFC’s Denis Bouanga (79 OVR) made history last season as the first player to score 20+ goals in three consecutive MLS seasons. His production alongside Son has turned LAFC into one of the most dangerous attacks in the Western Conference.
New England Revolution’s Carles Gil (79 OVR) and FC Cincinnati’s Evander (79 OVR) hold it down as two of the best playmakers who built their reputations in MLS rather than arriving from Europe with one.
