With this summer’s FIFA World Cup quickly approaching, Netflix has officially released the trailer for Ronaldinho: The One and Only. Aiming to be a definitive three-episode documentary series, this Ronaldinho documentary chronicles the life and career of the legendary Brazilian soccer icon.

The limited series is scheduled to premiere globally on April 16, 2026, offering viewers an intimate look at the athlete who redefined the sport for a generation. The project explores the rise of the celebrated Number 10, tracking his journey from his professional beginnings in Brazil to his ascent as a global phenomenon on the world’s most prestigious stages.

The new trailer, released by Netflix, introduces a new musical collaboration titled O Segredo da Ginga by Tropa do Bruxo. The track features vocals from singer BELLI and the group Menos é Mais. The composition was written by Breder alongside André Vieira and Mosquito, serving as a thematic accompaniment to the vibrant style of play Ronaldinho championed throughout his career.

What is Ronaldinho: The One and Only about?

The documentary provides a comprehensive reconstruction of the pivotal moments that defined Ronaldinho’s career. Utilizing a vast collection of archival footage and exclusive access to the player himself, following his trajectory from the early days at Grêmio to his integral role within the Brazilian national team.

The series highlights the peaks of his professional life, including his transformative tenure at Barcelona, his Golden Ball award, and his championship victories. But a good documentary doesn’t only follow the highs of a subject’s career and life, it looks at the lows too.

Ronaldinho: The One and Only also addresses the more turbulent chapters of his life. The series examines his professional defeats and personal struggles, including the highly publicized incident that resulted in his incarceration in a Paraguayan prison. By balancing his on-field brilliance with his off-field challenges, the production aims to present a complete portrait of the man behind the “Gaucho” persona.
