During the live-streamed Jujutsu Kaisen 5th Anniversary Special, a new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 was released, confirming a January 2026 premiere. The new season, officially titled Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game, will be exclusively streamed by Crunchyroll.
The new trailer offers a glimpse into the next arc of the series, following the devastating events of the “Shibuya Incident.” The footage shows Yuji Itadori grappling with feelings of conflict and despair, believing he has killed many people during the incident.
Viewers also see a fierce confrontation between Yuji and Yuta Okkotsu, the protagonist from the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The teaser also highlights a heated exchange between the new character Naoya Zen’in and Choso. The trailer builds anticipation for the start of the deadly “Culling Game” with brief appearances from returning characters Megumi Fushiguro, Yuki Tsukumo, and Maki Zen’in.
What to expect from The Culling Game Arc
In the manga, The Culling Game is an arc central to many characters, but none more so than our girl Maki. The arc gets its name from the game that the characters take part in – a clear inspiration from Hunter X Hunter, which Gege Akutami, the series mangaka and creator, has confirmed.
The Culling Game Arc is the ninth arc in the series. It follows the protagonists, Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and their allies, as they enter the Culling Game with the intention of rescuing Tsumiki Fushiguro from participating, freeing Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm, and protecting Tengen from Kenjaku. But that’s as much as we’ll say, as the longest of Akutami’s arcs is going to be one better left unspoiled.
