Netflix’s AsianDrama series library keeps growing. The streamer announced the premiere of its new rom-com series, Romantics Anonymous, debuting exclusively on the platform this Fall, on October 16, 2025.

The series features a star-studded cast from Japan and Korea, and tells the charming and unique love story between two individuals with unusual anxieties: a man who fears physical contact and a woman who is terrified of eye contact. A unique twist complicates their romance—they seem to be immune to each other’s conditions, allowing their relationship to blossom.

Sho Tsukikawa directs the series, with a story based on the French film Les Emotifs Anonymes, which was directed by Jean-Pierre Améris and co-written by Jean-Pierre Améris and Philippe Blasband. The production team includes Lee Ha-jun (Parasite) for production design, Jin-mo Yang (Parasite) as editor, Kosuke Yamada (Beyond Goodbye) as Director of Photography, and South Korean music director Dalpalan for the soundtrack. The series is developed by Park So-yeon and produced by YONG FILM and YONGFILM JAPAN.

What is Romantics Anonymous about?

The first-look teaser trailer introduces Sosuke Fujiwara (Shun Oguri), heir to a major confectionery company, who has a fear of germs and can’t bear touching anyone. Opposite him is Hana (Han Hyo-joo), a gifted chocolatier who creates their best-selling desserts. But she has her own peculiarity. Hana has an extreme fear of eye contact, but she works as an anonymous chocolatier for the popular and exquisite chocolate shop, Le Sauveur.

When Sosuke becomes the new head of Le Sauveur, he decides to revamp operations and meet with the equally anxious Hana. To their surprise, she finds herself able to look Sosuke in the eyes, while he doesn’t recoil from touching her. What follows is a charming, slow-burning exploration of their day-to-day interactions, as the two gradually and sweetly begin to grow close to each other.
