Netflix Renews Brazilian Hit Criminal Code for Third Season

Netflix announced the renewal of its police action-drama series, Criminal Code, for a third season. The series, which has gained significant viewership in Brazil and internationally. Criminal Code Season 3 will continue to follow the adventures of Suellen (Maeve Jinkings), Benício (Rômulo Braga), and Isaac (Alex Nader).

The upcoming season is expected to feature more intense scenes and conflicts, building on the conclusion of the second season which hinted at new confrontations and revenge.

What is the Criminal Code?

Criminal Code Season 3 renewed

Criminal Code is a Brazilian crime drama that follows federal police officers Benício and Suellen as they investigate a major robbery and the criminal gang behind it. The series is set in the Triple Frontier, a region where Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay meet, and is inspired by real-life crimes.

Produced by Paranoïd, Criminal Code is available on Netflix. The second season was created by Heitor Dhalia, Bernardo Barcellos, and Leonardo Levis; directed by Heitor Dhalia, Pedro Morelli, and Vellas; and executive produced by Manoel Rangel and Egisto Betti.

“It’s incredibly emotional to return to the Criminal Code universe, to revisit the places, characters, and stories of our tri-border region. It’s a new opportunity to reciprocate the love people have shown for the series. Criminal Code always delivers surprises — so here we go again,” adds Heitor Dhalia, the show’s director and showrunner.

The second season of Criminal Code achieved global success, securing top positions in Netflix’s Top 10 lists in Brazil and other countries, including Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Portugal, and Nigeria, where it remained in the rankings for nearly a month.
