November 15th can’t come soon enough for those of us looking to get all of our friends into Magic: The Gathering. On that day, Magic will release its new Foundations set. Marketed as the quintessential Magic set covering the greatest hits across the game’s storied history, the Foundation set offers an approachable way for new players to start, for old players to return to, or continue your Magic card collection if you never stopped playing. The centerpiece of the set is the Foundations Beginner Box.

This Beginner Box offers the best way to learn how to play the iconic card game by removing the intimidation that comes from the long history of cards the game has. It includes all the essentials for your first Magic: The Gathering match and more importantly, it features a written tutorial for you to step right into the game. With the Foundation Set Beginner Box, you start by walking through the tutorial decks, with instructions on what order to play the cards in and how to play with a play mat, showing you exactly what to do. Then, you can choose one of eight decks to continue your journey.

The Beginner Box includes eight preconstructed decks based on familiar archetypes, characters, and playstyles. Players learn not only how to play Magic but also the whys behind deckbuilding, such as when to attack versus defend, and other core elements that veteran players may take for granted.

Before Foundation Beginner’s Box release on November 15, 2024, Wizards of the Coast has shared with us an exclusive reveal of cards in the Undead deck! See the cards and their descriptions below.
