After years and a landmark court ruling, NCAA 2025 is happening. Only now, it’s EA Sports College Football 25…and they read your tweets. Perhaps the most anticipated sports game in recent years, the NCAA Football series was a crown jewel for EA Sports, with older versions of the games still in play getting fan-made and updated rosters. Coming from the land of college football myself, Texas, the release of the teaser trailer for the game hit everything it needed to.
The teaser showcased animation but took the time to hammer home why people care about the franchise to begin with. College Football. The traditions, the dedication, the stadium, the crowd noise. It’s a promising first look for fans already planning their comeback to the game. Why?
Because it knows exactly how players have been talking about it. They know that players have been skeptical, and they also know it’s been a long time coming. By leaning into the chatter instead of ignoring it, EA Sports College Football 25’s teaser lands.
More importantly, the teaser also revealed that the game’s release window is set for Summer 2024, thanks to the updated Twitter bio of the game’s official account. For a full trailer reveal, however, fans will have to wait until May.
It’s time to start planning your Dynasty and Road To Glory, but the real thing that has changed since NCAA Football 14, the last time EA Sports took on college football, is the transfer portal. Couple that with the new and expanded playoffs and conferences that have been entirely blown up. The slate almost feels clean, yes, even if it’s being made on the Madden engine.
The teaser may offer a quick first look at the mascot animation and stadiums, but there is a lot more for players to get into. With a changed college landscape, EA Sports College Football 25 has the ability to bring something entirely new. Let’s hope it’s excellent.
EA Sports College Football 25 is set to release in Summer 2024, with a full reveal planned for May 2024.
