Suitable Flesh, starring Heather Graham, will make its exclusive streaming debut on Shudder on January 26. Directed by Joe Lynch (Point Blank) this campy, body-swap, erotic horror seeks to thrill. The film adapts H.P. Lovecraft’s cult-favorite short story “The Thing on the Doorstep.” The film is a good fit for Lynch, who understands how to utilize carnage, exemplified in films such as the Steven Yeun action film Mayhem. His last project was the 2021 anthology series Creepshow, also released on Shudder.

Before its streaming debut, the film made festival rounds at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival and Fantastic Fest. Suitable Flesh has strong horror tie-ins behind the scenes. Dennis Paoli, who adapted the screenplay, is known for his work on cult classics such as Re-Animator and From Beyond. Barbara Crampton, who stars in and produces the film, is a former ‘80s “scream queen” who also starred in Re-Animator. Her other works include Body Double, From Beyond, Castle Freak, You’re Next, and more.
