After the successful debut of Castlevania: Nocturne, the sequel series to Castlevania that launched adult animation for the platform into the stratosphere, Netflix animated projects are firing on all cylinders. Next up for the streamer is Blue Eye Samurai. An adult animated series rated TV-MA and animated by Blue Spirit animation studio, Blue Eye Samurai has shared a visually stunning trailer and set its release date for November 3, 2023.

Utilizing a blend of animation styles, Blue Eye Samurai aims to immerse the viewer in a world of vivid adult animation with a live-action edge. Set in Edo-period Japan, the series follows Mizu (voiced by Maya Erskine), a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise, seeking the deliverance of revenge. This story will be told over eight 45-minute episodes.
