Today, Running Press Kids announced the upcoming publication of a new picture book: Ghostbusters: A Paranormal Picture Book. In collaboration with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, this picture book adaptation keeps all the humor and fun of the original movie while telling a story that young readers will love.
Kid scientists Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Egon Spengler are investigating ghosts and other paranormal activity in the city. They see their first ghost (Slimer) in the NYC Public Library, leading them to create the Ghostbusters, setting up their “club” in an old firehouse. Soon, business is booming as the kids are recruited to capture ghosts throughout the city. Winston Zeddemore and Janine Melnitz become the club’s first two important additions. But there is something sinister happening at an apartment building, and the Ghostbusters must put a stop to it (and the Stay Puft marshmallow man) before the city is overrun with ghouls.
Adapted by G.M. Berrow and J.M. Kehoe, based on the 1984 film Ghostbusters, an Ivan Reitman film, written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, and illustrated by Forrest Burdett, Ghostbusters: A Paranormal Picture Book brings all the fun of the classic franchise to a new generation. It is available for preorder now and will go on sale on October 5th, 2021.
