Netflix’s growing library of Asian reality and variety shows keeps expanding, especially when it comes to romance. Last year, the streamer launched Badly In Love, a Japanese dating series set to connect the “bad boys” and “bad girls” of Japan. Now, Netflix has announced that Badly In Love Season 2 is already on the way, and it will hit the streamer this Fall on August 4, 2026.
The streamer shared a trailer, key art, and a quick look at the cast. About Season 1, we said, “This reality dating show is the near-perfect examination of Japan’s yankii culture that can connect with anyone worldwide who’ve been connected with delinquency. Badly In Love Season 1 adds to the notion that everyone deserves a shot at love.”

Netflix also released the official theme song for Badly In Love Season 2: “Body & Soul (Remastered 2026),” by SPEED. The song is a newly remastered version of Okinawa-born group SPEED’s debut single, released in celebration of the group’s 30th anniversary.
What is Badly In Love Season 2 about?
The newly released key art introduces the nine cast members gathered on the beaches of Okinawa. With Badly In Love Season 2 taking contestants to the beach, the switch in atmosphere in the trailer just makes sense.
With complicated contestants looking for love despite their pasts, the series is hoping to thrive on the romance, conflict and unexpected friendships that made the first season of the dating show work.
Last season, as the cast opened up about the hardships that shaped them, it was easy to empathize with them and want them to find love, or even peace. The goal of the series is to see the relationships grow beyond romance just in the show.
