Netflix has been embracing Korean reality television along with other international dating series. Better Later Than Single, which was released earlier this year, was a quick hit with its relatable premise. Netflix confirmed the renewal of the hit dating series, meaning that Better Late Than Single Season 2 is on the way.

Returning director Kim Noh-eun said this about the renewal in a release in the Netflix Newsroom, “Thanks to all the encouragement and support, we’re excited to bring the show back for a second season. We look forward to meeting new singles who are ready to take their first brave steps into love.”

What is Better Late Than Single?

Better Late Than Single Season 2

The show garnered a strong following for its unique approach to the dating genre. The series followed the emotional journeys of “motae-solos”—individuals who have never been in a romantic relationship—as they attempted to find their first loves. Season 1 captivated audiences by chronicling the awkward but touching transformations of its cast, from their initial hesitant steps to their heartwarming personal growth.

Our critic had this to say about the series in their review:

“The 28-year-old fashion marketer Lee Min-hong is delightfully open-faced and blunt, a striking contrast to so many other Korean reality dating stars. Her personality works in comparison to some of the more reserved contestants, making her unlikely friendship with Jaeyun all the sweeter. “

The series is known for its refreshingly genuine and relatable portrayal of first-time romance. The show’s appeal lies in its focus on the participants’ self-discovery and emotional transformations rather than typical dating competition drama.

The series starts with four panelists choosing two to three contestants each to participate in the series. All of whom have never been in a relationship, are looking for love, and believe there’s something about their personalities they could improve to better their chances. Better Late Than Single Season 2 will have the same hosts returning as in the first season.
