Prepare to build bigger than ever before in ASTRONEER Megatech, the second paid DLC expansion for the popular sci-fi survival game. Following the success of last year’s Glitchwalkers expansion, Devolver Digital and System Era Softworks are gearing up to send players into orbit with new content this November.

The game was initially released in Early Access on Steam in 2016 and celebrated a 1.0 launch three years later in 2019. In ASTRONEER, players interact with strange new worlds in a unique and tactile way, molding the environment itself as if it were clay in their hands. Plus, players build their base, master resource management, automate their production lines, and more as they unravel the mysteries of the universe, alone or with friends.

What is ASTRONEER Megatech about?

Astroneer Megatech promotional key art image

ASTRONEER: Megatech introduces the ability to construct immense “Megastructure” projects that test and expand basebuilding skills. These new structures challenge players to use their base-building skills to the absolute limit by utilizing new and existing technology. Each Megastructure offers unique gameplay and rewards, and also adds another identity to Basebuilding and automation in the game.

Do I need the base game to play ASTRONEER Megatech?

Yes, you do need the base game to play Astroneer’s latest downloadable content. That said, this expansion is compatible with existing save files, allowing players to either start a new game or continue their current progress.

What to expect from the Free Content Update?

Launching alongside the DLC is a free update for all ASTRONEER players. This update includes new items and allows players to construct a single type of Megastructure. This free Megastructure unlocks the ability for automated interplanetary transportation, letting you move resources and technology between planets.

What is the release date for the Megatech DLC?

ASTRONEER: Megatech will release in November 2025 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
