Directed by Naomi Nakayama, who returns after directing My Hero Academia Season 7 in 2024, My Hero Academia Final Season will be the exciting conclusion of the anime series based on the popular manga created by Kohei Horikoshi. The manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and reached its final chapter in August 2024.

More about My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is a Japanese anime series based on the popular comics by Kohei Horikoshi. It is set in a world where about 80% of the population has a superpowered Quirk. Heroes protect people and society from accidents, disasters, and villains—criminals who use their Quirks for evil. The story of Izuku Midoriya and his classmates at U.A. High School and their growth, fights, and friendship unfolds as they aim to become heroes. The anime series will release its eighth and final season in Fall 2025.

My Hero Academia has been going on for a while, with the series featuring some high highs and some low lows. Our critic mentioned Season 7 feeling more like a part one, with the hope that the final season might bring the story to a more fitting end: “My Hero Academia Season 7 delivers some great emotional beats and huge epic battles despite mismanaging some important elements of its narrative. It isn’t the flawless execution fans hoped for, but maybe the next season will be able to right the ship.”

We have until October to see whether My Hero Academia Final Season rights the ship. As it stands, the hype is real as we wait for the Fall anime season to roll around.
