Summer Game Fest Is Back In Los Angeles For 2025

Summer Game Fest 2025 is heading back to Los Angeles for its 6th edition on June 6-9, 2025. A celebration of video games, the event aims to unite consumers, media, influences, and leaders for a weekend dedicated to all things gaming. Last year’s event showcased Dune: Awakening, Sonic X Shadow Generations, Metaphor Refantazio, Tales of the Shire, and more.

Summer Game Fest 2025 will introduce a business-to-business thought leader event to delve into some of the key changes, challenges, and opportunities facing the global video game industry, as well as celebrate the cultural impact and importance of video games as the most powerful form of entertainment in the world. This will be held in downtown Los Angeles and curated by Christopher Dring (former head of GamesIndustry.biz) and Geoff Keighley. It will feature thought leaders from gaming, entertainment, and more.

SGF will support and amplify a variety of other publisher and partner events and livestreams during SGF weekend, including Day of the Devs, a non-profit with the mission to celebrate the creativity, diversity, and magic of indie video games. Day of the Devs: SGF Edition will be presented online via livestream immediately following the SGF live showcase on June 6. When is Summer Game Fest 2025?

This year’s SGF will feature a Live Kickoff show hosted by Geoff Keighley (Creator and host of The Game Awards) from YouTube Theater on Friday, June 6, 2025. The event will take place live in-person 2-hour showcase event, streaming live on Friday, June 6 from 2-4 pm PT (5-7 pm ET, 10-Midnight GMT).

Produced by the team behind The Game Awards, a live audience of thousands of consumers will join together with a live online audience of tens of millions to experience spectacular new video game announcements, surprises, and reveals. The SGF event will be streamed live around the world across more than 20 digital video platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, X, and Steam, as well as across international partners.

Public ticket sales will commence later this Spring.

When are SGF: Play Days?

Summer Game Fest 2025: Play Days for Media + Influencers will take place on June 7-9 in Downtown Los Angeles, produced by iam8bit, and a new thought leader event in downtown Los Angeles that hasn’t yet been revealed.

SGF: Play Days, produced by iam8bit, will return to provide three days of immersive exhibits and hands-on showcases in downtown Los Angeles for the world’s top invited media and content creators. Running June 7-9, SGF: Play Days will feature activations from more than 40 of the gaming industry’s top publishers. SGF: Play Days is the ultimate sneak preview event, with coverage appearing across digital and social platforms worldwide.
