Alan Ritchson fans can rejoice. With Reacher Season 4 set to premiere this year, Prime Video has already announced that this won’t be the end of the hit series based on bestselling novels by Lee Child. Reacher Season 5 has gotten the greenlight, and it’s starting to feel like at least some shows can survive the streaming curse of two seasons.
“From Lee Child’s globally beloved novels to its standout on-screen adaptation, Reacher has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise,” said Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios in a release to press. “The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world. We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season Four’s debut and to build on this incredible momentum.”

The early renewal news came ahead of Amazon’s upfront presentation and underscores the continued success of the action series, which remains one of Prime Video’s most popular franchises. Jack Reacher has served as a model for Prime Video’s pivot into action series and original movies, which has more than paid off for the streamer. But it’s also a natural throughline for the platform that owns the rights to Tom Clancy adaptations.
Per Prime Video, Reacher Season 3 reached 54.6 million viewers globally on Prime Video in its first 19 days and continues to be the most-watched season on the service since Fallout Season 1. And that viewer adoration is sure to keep growing if the seasons keep getting bigger, louder, and doubling down on leaning into “Reacher is big” jokes.
About Reaher Season 3, we said, “Reacher Season 3 continues to show why Alan Ritchson is the best. He balances a spectrum of emotion and intensity, and everyone around him rises to meet him. Whether through villainy, romance, or friendship, Ritchson’s ability to immediately build chemistry with the others in a scene is unmatched. Between Reacher and Cross or the other Tom Clancy adaptations, it’s clear that the book-to-television pipeline is the strongest it’s ever been on Prime Video.”
What will Reacher Season 4 be about?

According to Prime Video, Reacher Season 4 will continue its high-stakes storytelling with Alan Ritchson reprising his role as Jack Reacher. New to the cast this season are Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Roberston.
Reacher Season 4 starts when a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a subway goes horribly wrong, drawing Jack Reacher into a complex and deadly game that pits him against ruthless foes from the highest echelons of power. Additional details on the upcoming season will be announced later. However, for folks who have read Lee Child’s work, you may know what is on the horizon.
The fourth season of Reacher will be based on the 13th book in Child’s global best-selling series, titled Gone Tomorrow.
