Com2uS’s MLB Perfect Inning 26 is aiming to get even closer to real life with its major Opening Day update. Com2uS’s CEO Nam Jae-kwan has announced that the major update will improve realism by fully updating rosters and schedules for the new MLB season, along with some fan-favorite uniforms.
If you’re unfamiliar, MLB Perfect Inning 26 is a global-focused mobile baseball game that is officially licensed by the MLB. Players looking to play something on the go or something to complement their time in MLB The Show can hop into this mobile title for free.
In addition to MLB Perfect Inning 26, Come2uS also develops and publishes MLB 9 Innings 26 and MLB 9 Innings Rivals 26 (rebranded from MLB Rivals). Each of those titles received its own huge updates, which you can read about here.
What is new in the Opening Day Update?
This update fully reflects the latest Major League Baseball schedule for the new season. In addition to the schedule, the Opening Day Update for MLB Perfect Inning 26 has updated all rosters for all 30 teams to ensure that the title represents the real world of baseball that fans expect.
The most exciting thing for fans, however, may not be the roster or schedule update, but the brand new addition of teams’ beloved “City Connect.” If you’re unfamiliar, each MLB team (in real life) has “City Connect” games with special jerseys that aim to reflect the team’s home and identity. These uniforms incorporate the history and fan culture of MLB teams, their cities, and communities.
For example, the Arizona Diamondbacks ditch their traditional maroon for purple and teal, changing their logo from the Diamondbacks to the Serpientes to honor the Latino community in Arizona. Or, probably even more exciting, is when the Houston Astros host their Space City nights and roll out their custom kits to honor the impact NASA has had on their team and the community they represent.
Now, in MLB Perfect Inning 26, fans will get the chance to don City Connect jerseys. While additional teams will be supported in future updates, the Opening Day Update includes five: the Los Angeles Angels, Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Guardians, Philadelphia Phillies, and Tampa Bay Rays. While my favorite jerseys may not be in the game just yet, the continued support and highlight of one of the MLB’s best traditions is exciting.
What are the rewards with this Opening Day update?
To celebrate the start of the new season, special in-game events will take place. Like with other free-to-play mobile titles, these special events will also come with in-game rewards for players.
To earn them, players can complete daily missions tailored to their team to earn a variety of items that help strengthen their roster. And those who complete all missions over a maximum period of 30 days will receive their team’s City Connect uniform as a special reward.
