John Wick Is Back In Video Games With Saber Interactive’s New Title

John Wick Video Game Reveal during Sony state of Play

During the February 2026 Sony State of Play Showcase we found out that John Wick is back…in video games. It should not come to now surprise that a John Wick video game is on the horizon given Lionsgate’s dedication to expanding the IP with some iterations more successful than other. But unlike previous ARPG titled, this new John Wick video game comes from Saber Interactive, has Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves involved in production, and is going to be far different from what we’ve seen so far.

“I can’t wait for fans to step into the shoes of John Wick and explore the multi-dimensional world of The High Table,” stated Jenefer Brown, President of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate in a release to press. “We are collaborating closely with Saber’s dedicated team to develop a game that captures the unparalleled action, brand-defining fight choreography, immersive world-building, and authenticity of the films.”

While John Wick has been in John Wick Hex, an indie turn-based strategy game from  Bithell Games and published by Good Shepherd Entertainment, this announcement marks his AAA video game debut. The game is currently in development and will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. But what can we expect?

What is the new John Wick video game about?

John Wick Video Game Reveal during Sony state of Play

From the trailer, it’s clear that Saber Interactive is putting fidelity first in the “Untitled John Wick Game” and much of that visual style is showcasing the Wickian gun-fu (not to be confused with Equilibrium’s gun-fu) and the close-quarters combat that has come to define the franchise and Stahelski’s fight choreography.

The most important part of this State of Play announcement is that the “Untitled John Wick Game” is created as a collaboration between Saber, Lionsgate, and Stahelski. As pointed out in the Wick is Pain documentary, Stahelski has been a steward of the character he created in a way that always looks to evolve him and well, make him do cool things. It sounds like a joke, but it’s not.

With the video game offering Stahelski the chance to take advantage of a new and original gameplay narrative set in the John Wick timeline years before the Impossible Task, the door is wide open to keep building the foundation that the character stands on. In doing so, and as the developer has said in a media release, the new game has the chance to expand on the franchise’s lore during that time with familiar characters fans already know and also create new ones.

John Wick Video Game Reveal during Sony state of Play - "Untitled John Wick Game"

The media release characterized the game as “the ultimate John Wick gaming experience that fans have been waiting for.” And with both The Continental and Ana de Armas’ Ballerina underperforming with critics and fans alike, well the jury is out on how successful it will be from a narrative angle.

That said, as a John Wick fan myself, the promise of a gun-fu combat system, jaw-dropping camerawork (their words, not mine), intense driving experiences, cinematic storytelling, and  immersive environments, that have all been “crafted to make players feel like they are in a John Wick movie,” Saber Interactive has my attention.

And if the reveal trailer is anything to judge the game off of, well, I’m excited. Capturing the core elements of a John Wick fight, it’s hard not to get excited of taking on the world as the Baba Yaga yourself. You can watch the full reveal trailer below.

When is the release date for the Untitled John Wick Game?

The “Untitled John Wick Game” is still in development, with the State of Play spot serving more as a teaser than anything else. That said, it will be available to wishlist on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC as more information is released.
