Developer Math Tide and publisher Thermite Games announce an official collaboration between the tactical roguelike deckbuilder LONESTAR and the acclaimed turn-based strategy game Into the Breach. This exciting update introduces new content, including a new recruitable pilot, a powerful boss encounter, and multiple dynamic events, all arriving on June 27 during the Steam Summer Sale.
Since its full release on January 18, 2024, LONESTAR has sold over 100,000 copies and earned a 91% “Very Positive” rating on Steam from more than 1,800 player reviews. Previous crossover updates with Backpack Battles and Magicraft were widely celebrated within the community. The Into the Breach collaboration marks the next step in expanding LONESTAR’s universe through thoughtful partnerships and genre-driven storytelling.
What is coming with the new LONESTAR x Into The Breach Crossover?
- New Pilot – Abe: The new content draws heavily from Into the Breach, one of the most influential tactical games in recent years. This crossover introduces Abe, a featured pilot from Into the Breach, now fully integrated into LONESTAR as a playable character. Abe’s inherent talent, Mech Weapons, allows players to choose one of two special components after each elite battle. His unique part pool includes iconic mechanics such as the Electric Whip and Flamethrower, providing players with new strategic tools for their bounty hunts across the galaxy.
- New Boss Encounter – VEK: A creature known as “Goo” has entered the LONESTAR universe through a dimensional rift opened by Abe’s arrival. This entity, now fragmented across the galaxy in corrupted ships and parts, poses a major threat. Players must track and eliminate the VEK before it causes irreparable damage.
- New Dynamic Events: In addition to core content, two new dynamic events are being introduced: one emergency scenario and one themed around an unusual “vacation.” These will be added to the random event system, further increasing the variety and unpredictability of each playthrough.
