Destroys Demons in The Hinokami Chronicles 2!

The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a thrilling arena fighter from the team at CyberConnect2 that builds upon the original Hinokami Chronicles, whose cumulative physical game shipments and digital copies sold has exceeded 4 million units worldwide.

The sequel’s Story Mode will pick up where the previous entry left off, allowing fans to once again put themselves in the well-traveled shoes of Tanjiro Kamado. This time, fans will be able to relive many of the exciting moments from “Entertainment District Arc,” “Swordsmith Village Arc,” and “Hashira Training Arc.”

The VS Mode playable roster is larger than ever, with over 40 playable characters to choose from! That includes Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji, two Hashira who bravely fought against two Upper Rank demons of the Twelve Kizuki.

Players can expect all characters from the original Hinokami Chronicles to make a return in the base roster, including the demons that were added in the free post-launch updates and the Entertainment District Arc characters that were originally part of the first game’s paid DLC. The nine Hashira, the highest rank of the Demon Slayer Corps., will also join the game as playable characters.

Stay tuned for more information about the title in the coming months by following SEGA’s official Demon Slayer social accounts on X, Facebook, and Instagram.

More Demon Slayer Updates

The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is not the only news about the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series this week. During CCXP 2024, Crunchyroll revealed a new visual from the famed animation studio ufotable for the highly anticipated Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle. The first film in an epic trilogy will be released exclusively in theaters globally in 2025.

From the Thunder Stage at CCXP, Japanese voice actors Takahiro Sakurai (Giyu Tomioka) and Kengo Kawanishi (Muichiro Tokito), along with Brazilian voice actor Daniel Figueira (Tanjiro Kamado), gave clamoring fans a sneak peek at the intricate Infinity Castle, the setting for the impending all-out war between the Demon Slayer Corps and demonic leader Muzan Kibutsuji!

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute the film worldwide, including in Japan (except in selected Asian markets). No theatrical release dates have been announced, but keep your eyes peeled for further announcements later in 2025. The three-part cinematic movie represents the final arc and culmination of the hugely popular award-winning anime Shonen series. It is an impactful and final farewell for fans everywhere!
