‘EA SPORTS FC 25’ Introduces New Rush Game Mode And FC IQ

The release for EA SPORTS FC 25 is getting closer and EA has officially revealed what players can expect in the yearly update of the popular soccer franchise. EA SPORTS FC 25 launches September 27, 2024, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Early access is available starting September 20th for anyone who pre-orders the Ultimate Edition.

I had the opportunity to check out a preview this week, primarily focusing on the new Rush game mode. The new mode puts players in a 5v5 situation on a smaller field, making for a more exciting and high-scoring affair. The limited preview allowed me to see what it was like playing as players like Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne against the mighty Real Madrid in a much different setting and was quite fun. This mode should be especially exciting when played with friends.

Play as a Team, Win as a Team

Players will team up with 5v5 Rush, a new way to play with friends across Football Ultimate Team, Clubs, Kick-Off and Career modes with fast-paced gameplay. In Football Ultimate Team Rush, players will build their dream 5-a-side squad with up to three friends and an AI-controlled goalkeeper, each controlling their favorite Player Item, or take on the world with the teammates they trust the most in Clubs Rush.

Realism and Tactics Taken to a New Level

Launching in EA SPORTS FC 25, FC IQ will overhaul the game’s tactical foundations to deliver more strategic control, smarter teammates, individual Player Roles, and more authentic collective movement in every 11v11 match through:

  • A revamp of team tactics that will modernize positioning at both ends of the pitch, changing how every team plays – modeled on their real-world style of play – and delivering greater variation from match-to-match. Smarter tactics through all-new real-time suggestions and D-Pad functionalities will make in-game tactical decisions more accessible and intuitive than ever, and new broadcast features will allow players to better experience their changes as they take effect.
  • More than 50 new Player Roles, powered by proprietary AI and real world Opta data, will guide the way every player thinks and behaves on the pitch, resulting in more true-to-life tactical intelligence and movement off the ball. A modern Team Management system will also give fans deeper insight and control over Player Roles, allowing them to better understand and influence tactics at both the individual and team level.

Women’s Football and Live Start Points Come to Career Mode

For the first time ever, EA SPORTS FC 25 welcomes women’s football to both Player and Manager Career. EA SPORTS FC 25 will deliver a realistic Women’s Manager Career experience by recreating the top five women’s leagues from around the world – Barclays Women’s Super League, the D1 Arkema, the National Women’s Soccer League, the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga, and Liga F. Managers can also move interchangeably between Men’s and Women’s football teams, giving them the chance to experience all sides of the beautiful game and carve their way to the top of the football ladder.

To bring players even closer to the real-world game, Live Start Points puts players at the center of the biggest IRL storylines as they take place, such as taking over a club after mid-season transfers or managerial shifts.

Additional updates to Career include the ability to rewrite history with ICONs from the past, including Thierry Henry and Andrea Pirlo, in Player Career; or chart the course for the stars of tomorrow in 5v5 Rush tournaments as part of a completely revamped Youth Academy.

Do it For the Club

Play together, win together and progress together in Clubs, as fans from all around the world can connect through the Clubhouse to earn rewards. Players can connect with Clubmates through The Clubhouse, a personalized space that allows social interaction with other players and provides a one-stop-shop for endless customization options.

Clubs will also offer Facilities, where players can take their Club to new heights and unlock game-changing opportunities such as hiring a shooting coach, investing in a weight room to improve stats and so much more. The 5v5 experience, Clubs Rush, is another new addition that provides a fast-paced small-sided football experience that gives players and their Club the chance to prove their talent and take home exciting seasonal rewards.

Build the Dream Team

The iconic Football Ultimate Team experience gives players more ways to compete in EA SPORTS FC 25 with the addition of Rush mode, taking their teams of the best stars past and present from across The World’s Game into 5v5 matches. Players will select their favorite Player Item and team up with friends to hit the pitch together in new small-sided 5v5 Rush matches. They can switch up their playstyle with the click of a button by employing Manager Items and implementing their real-world tactical preferences, unlocking the full potential of their squad by finding the perfect Player Item with the Player Role that matches best how they want to play.
