XYZ Films (Blackberry, Something In The Dirt) has acquired the domestic distribution rights to Skyline: Warpath. The science fiction action film stars Iko Uwais and Scott Adkins is written and directed by Liam O’Donnell (Beyond Skyline). As part of the “Skyline” universe, the film takes place five years following the events of Beyond Skyline. Uwais plays Sua, who leads The Resistance against the aliens. When Sua discovers the powerful alien Radial Gauntlet, he must deal with both the corrupt Eric (Scott Adkins) and the army of alien invaders.

Matthew Chausse, on behalf of the filmmakers, and Maxine Cottray from XYZ Films negotiated the rights deal. Uwais has partnered with XYZ Films in the past with The Raid franchise and The Night Comes For Us. Most recently, Uwais starred in the action film Ash, directed by Flying Lotus. Director O’Donnell said:

“Since we first met Iko Uwais, Matthew Chausse and I have been pushing to make a star vehicle for him like Warpath. Pairing him with the truly versatile action legend Scott Adkins, along with XYZ films, the company that started things off for us, has been a dream come true.”

The martial arts alien invasion film stars Uwais and Adkins, along with Louis Mandylor, Randall J. Bacon, and Yayan Ruhain rounding out the cast. Playing at Trieste Science+Fiction, Toronto After Dark, Austin Other Worlds, Rio Grind Vancouver, Cinepocalypse Chicago, and the Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival, Beyond Skyline met positive reactions from a global crowd.
