The vast world of One Piece, created by the legendary Eiichiro Oda, is full of diverse, endearing, and captivating characters that hold a special place in many fans’ hearts. Now, that we’re at Egghead Island, it’s time to look at the characters. While Luffy, Zoro, and other male characters typically dominate the spotlight, there are formidable One Piece female characters who also contribute to the rich world of this beloved anime and manga series.

Whether big or small, villain or hero, in my opinion, these women have left an undeniable mark on the One Piece universe. One Piece is filled with beautiful women who are just as powerful as they are charismatic and eye-catching, making them dynamic characters for any fan to fall for.

While some of these women are the only female members of their crew, and others are considered the most beautiful women of the world, there is no shortage of diversity among the women of One Piece. From fierce pirates to cunning archeologists, enjoy this compilation of the series’s top 10 One Piece female characters as we explain the reasons behind their rankings. This list is based on each character’s impact on the story, relationships with other characters,  exceptional performances, and various strengths. There are a lot of One Piece female characters, but we’re starting with 10.

10. Jewelry Bonney

One PIece Female Characters — But Why Tho (2)

Along with Luffy, Zoro, there are notable young pirates, Jewelry Bonney is part of the Worst Generation. Kicking off our top One Piece female characters list, she is dynamic to say the least. The Worst Generation is a group of young pirates regarded as “problem children” notorious for committing bold acts against the World Government.

Although Bonney may have an aggressive temper and acts rudely, she displays considerable tactfulness. She knows when to fight and when to prevent trouble, particularly in dangerous territories. Although much is not known about her in the anime right now, her story arc will play a considerable role in the overall series down the line.

9. Koala

One PIece Female Characters — But Why Tho (7)

Koala is a former slave who was set free by Fisher Tiger and his crew of Fishman pirates, the Sun Pirates. Later on joined the Revolutionary Army and earned a position as a high-ranking officer. She currently works closely with Sabo and Dragon, Luffy’s brother and father, to help free slaves and fight against the World Government’s corrupt power over the world.

8. Hiyori

Hiyori from one piece

Kozuki Hiyori is he daughter of Kozuki Odenand Kozuki Toki. Following her father’s death she hid her identity and later emerges as Komuraski, a the highest-ranking oran in Wano. All in order to help take down the men responsible for her father’s death. Hiyori is an extremely crafty manipulator, using her beauty and acting abilities to deceive corrupt men into giving her all their wealth and distributing it to the poor citizens of Wano. Not to mention, Zoro would not have gotten Enma, a sword he needed to fight Kaido, if it was not for Hiyori.

7. Tashigi

One PIece Female Characters — But Why Tho (6)

A skilled swordswoman and a Captain of the Marines serving under Vice Admiral Smoker, although the organization she works for is corrupt that does not stop Tashigi from doing what is right. Tashigi is constantly striving to uphold justice and protect innocent lives. Her courage, unwavering commitment to her ideals,  and striking resemblance to Zoro’s deceased childhood friend Kuina adds depth to her character.

6. Reiju Vinsmoke

One PIece Female Characters — But Why Tho (2)

Sanji’s big sister and only daughter of the notorious Vinsmoke family, is a very interesting character in One Piece. Initially introduced as a member of the antagonist in the Whole Cake Island Arc. Vinsmoke Reiju becomes an ally to Luffy and the Straw Hats and secretly hopes they can help her brother Sanji. Reiju is a poison expert and firece warrior of Germa 66 also known as Poison Pink. While her family, with the exception to Sanji and their mother, are known for their ruthless and emotionless demeanor, Reiju stands out among her other siblings due to her empathy and moral compass.

5. Carrot

One PIece Female Characters — But Why Tho (9)

A seemingly cute and innocent bunny from the Mink Tribe, Carrot is a lively and energetic character with an infectious personality. Her combat skills, agility, and special transformation abilities have helped save the Straw Hat crew on multiple occurrences. Initially she, she seems to be naive and childish about serious matters and the world beyond her homeland, but as the series progresses, Carrot grows and matures.

4. Nami

One PIece Female Characters — But Why Tho (2)

Nami may be the weakest crew member, when it comes to strength, but she is far from useless. Her navigation, weather prediction, and cat burglary skills are unmatched. Nami knows she is nowhere near as strong as the other crew members but that doesn’t keep her out of a fight. She relies on on clever tricks strategy and her expert wielding of her clima-tact to aid her in battle. Plus it it wasn’t for Nami, Luffy and the other Straw Hats  would have died at sea a long time ago.

3. Boa Hancock

Boa hancock anime

Next on the top One Piece female characters list is Boa Hancock. A former slave, now Captain of the Kuja Pirates, Queen of Amazon Lily, and one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Boa, is a powerful, cunning, and stunningly beautiful character. She knows how to wield beauty to her advantage and refuses to be looked down upon by anyone. Her mesmerizing beauty and mastery of Haki make her a formidable foe to any Pirate or Marine that tries to collect her bounty. Not to mention if it was not for Boa, Luffy might have never been able to reunite with his friends again.

2. Big Mom, AKA Charlotte Linlin

Big Mom from One Piece anime

Big Mom is the first and only of the One Piece female characters, to date, to be one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. Emperors are considered to be the most notorious and most powerful pirate captains in the world. Along with her intimidating title, Big Mom Pirates is a terrifying figure in the pirate world with immense strength and political influence that strikes fear in the hearts of many. In addition to her complex personality, tragic backstory, and the undeniable power of her fruit make her a force to be reckoned with.

1. Nico Robin

One PIece Female Characters — But Why Tho (2)

The top of the One Piece female characters list is Nico Robin. Robin is a skilled archaeologist with an extremely rare ability to read Poneglyphs. These ancient stones hold the key to uncovering the history of the world and the location of the One Piece treasure. Her ability makes her one of the most important people in the world. Her brilliance, calm demeanor, and devil fruit power make her an invaluable asset to the Straw Hat Pirates and help Luffy become King of the Pirates.

There are plenty of other memorable and impactful One Piece female characters in 1000+ episode series.  But for me, these ten women stand out amongst the rest. Did my list miss any one of your personal favorite One Piece female characters? Who do you think of the top One Piece female characters will show up in One Piece Season 2 on Netflix?

The One Piece live-action series is available now on Netflix, and you can watch One Piece on Crunchyroll in both Sub and Dub, with new episodes every Sunday.
