Netflix has announced that Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 is coming. Castlevania: Nocturne was a critical and fan success. With inspiration from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles, and Castlevania: Bloodlines, the series tells both an intimate and epic story of Richter Belmont, Annette, and Maria Renard, fighting to keep the Vampire Messiah from reaching power, eating the sun, and unleashing the vampires out of the aristocracy and places them in control.

In the teaser, we can see close-ups of all of our characters, fan-favorite Alucard, and the Belmont crest. Sam Deats and Adam Deats will once again share directing duties on the series, with Project 51 Productions and Powerhouse Animation continuing to produce for the Netflix project.

What led to this fast Nocturne Season 2 renewal?

Well, In its first five days, the video game adaptation reached Netflix’s Top 10 English TV List during the week of October 1. It also reached the Top 10 in 40 countries.

Creator/Showrunner/Writer Clive Bradley and Showrunner Kevin Kolde shared this, “Thanks to all of the Castlevania fans, old and new, for the amazing response and support! We are excited to be able to bring you more Castlevania: Nocturne and the next chapter in the rise of Richter Belmont.”

The series is the next installment of the Castlevania universe, picking up 300 years after the end of the original Castlevania series, which ran for four seasons on Netflix. The series is based on the classic Konami video game series.

The eight-episode series is streaming now exclusively on Netflix, making it an easy binge-watch for one day or a weekend—but beware, you will want more. Set at the height of the French Revolution in 1792, the series is focused on telling stories of rebellion, freedom, and surviving after grief. With stellar villains like Olrox and Drolta, and a strong new trio taking the stage, the series is sure to keep being a hit as the “last of the Belmonts” keeps moving on from the brink of utter defeat.

For more on Richter Belmont and Castlevania: Nocturne, listen to our interview with directors Sam & Adam Deats, and co-showrunner Kevin Kolde.

Castlevania: Nocturne is streaming now, exclusively on Netflix with Nocturne Season 2 arriving January 16, 2025.
