Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage Episode 7

Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage Episode 7 is a fantasy adventure anime based on the Japanese manga series, Ranking of Kings, written and illustrated by Sōsuke Tōka. Treasure Chest of Courage is an endearing collection of short stories set during the first season of Ranking of Kings. The head director of the series Yosuke Hatta (Boogiepop) at WIT Studio, with series composition by Taku Kishimoto (Fruits Basket), character designs by Atsuko Nozaki, and music by MAYUKO (Cells at Work!).

Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage Episode 7 focuses on the origin story of Bebin, the Snake Master, at a time when he felt inferior and was searching for a way to hone his skills. Bebin’s search leads him to the kingdom of the Underworld, where he requests Prince Despa to take him in as a student and make him stronger. Later in the present day, King Daida tasks Hokuro with help bringing the four highest-ranked officers and advisors to the Bosse Kingdom closer together. A job that seems nearly impossible at first, but Hokuro has a plan that might work.

The storytelling in Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage Episode 7 is dynamic. Although each of the storylines of this episode takes place at different times, the storytelling helps to expound on the lore in the established series, further rounding out our characters and their relationships, while also preparing the series to continue in the next upcoming season.

A great example of this can be found in the latter segment, which shines a spotlight on Hokuro and the Big Four. The Big Four, comprised of Domas, Bebin, Apeas, and Dorshe, is the most esteemed council of advisors and officers appointed by King Bosse in the Bosse Kingdom. Set after the Season 1 finale, King Daida assigns them a task, revealing their initial discord and inability to function cohesively. However, their differences gradually dissolve as the story progresses, and they ultimately unite for a common cause. I imagine improving their teamwork and furthering their relationships as a team playing a role in the next season.

The storytelling in Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage Episode 7 is remarkably engaging. Despite each segment of the episode taking place in different timelines, the episode’s storytelling effectively expands upon the established series lore, provides additional depth to supporting characters and their relationships, and seamlessly sets the stage for the upcoming season, which helps to lay the foundry to continue a captivating story in the next installment.

Treasure Chest of Courage does a tremendous job of rounding out characters. No matter how big or small their role may be in the over-arching series. Episode 7 is no different, providing excellent insight into the mysterious snake master and swordsman’s backstory. While also showing that his character closely mirrors that of our main protagonist Bojji.

In a striking parallel, much like Bojji’s transformative quest to find his inner strength, episode 7 captivates audiences with Bebin’s journey of self-discovery, unveiling his newfound potential during a time of vulnerability. This significant development sheds light on Bebin’s subsequent act of aiding Bojji by guiding him towards his former master, Prince Despa, as Bebin recognizes glimpses of his past struggles reflected in Bojji’s struggle to prove himself as a capable leader and hero.

The animators got to flex their skills and range with the battle and training scenes in episode 7. While the animation in previous episodes’ action scenes are beautiful and fluid, the battle scenes in this episode were stellar and continued to push past expectations. Ranking of Kings has yet to dissappoint in regards to the animation as it continues to impress with how vast the skills of the artists are.

Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage Episode 7 continues to captivate viewers with impressive animation, dynamic storytelling, and character development. The episode delves into the origins of the enigmatic Snake Master, Bebin, as he embarks on a journey to overcome his inadequacy and hone his skills. The narrative seamlessly intertwines different timelines, expanding the series’ lore and deepening the
