There’s no better way to celebrate the spooky season than with a brand-new mystery-horror-fantasy series, and Netflix plans to close out October with one from South Korea. Directed by Kim Da-min and created by Han Jun-hee, Dead-End Job is a genre-mashing drama set to release October 30, 2026.

With stacked creatives behind the camera, Director Kim previously wrote the stunning Netflix series A Killer Paradox. It subverted expectations, asked a lot from its actors, and in the end we said, “Darkly humorous, violent, and never boring, A Killer Paradox is a morality thriller like no other. What begins as a comedy of errors and morphs into a deep detective thriller, it’s one of the finest series on Netflix.”

Additionally, the series creator, Han Jun-hee, brings a creative eye shaped by the tense interpersonal drama of his past Netflix series D.P. and Weak Hero Class 2. The series also features Kyung Min-sun and Lee Shin-ji as writers on there series.

As for the cast, the new K-Drama series pairs the two showrunners with an ensemble cast led by Lee Jae-wook, featuring Ko Min-si, Kim Min-ha, and Lee Hee-jun, making it a must-add to your watchlist.

With the announcement, the streaming platform also released the series’ first trailer and key art. For now, here’s what you need to know. And with how exhausted and bloodied Lee Jae-wook looks in this first poster, it’s clear that this job isn’t going to just be a normal convenience store cashier.

What is Dead-End Job about?

The official synopsis that Netflix has released highlights the desperate position we find actor Lee’s Hyeok-jun in, and it’s exemplified in the teaser trailer where he meets the head of the Spider Staffing Agency (Lee Hee-ju), only to be talked into a gig that will pay well, but he might regret it.

Official Synopsis:

Desperate to escape crushing debt, Hyeok-jun is drawn to a strange flyer advertising a high-paying part-time job — and ends up at the mysterious Spider Staffing Agency, where the pay starts at 50 times the minimum hourly wage and there’s just one rule: never reveal what happens on the job. Sent to what looks like an ordinary convenience store, Hyeok-jun soon discovers that in this nightmarish workplace, every shift could cost him his life.
