Developed like RedOctane Games, Stage Tour was one of the biggest surprises of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. Set to release on December 10, 2026, the game is bringing back what players loved about Guitar Hero, UI and all.
From avatars that bring back the feeling of World Tour to the frets that take us back to the red, green, yellow, blue, orange beauties we got good at, World Tour feels like something we’ve all been asking for. The new trailer featured Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart My Heart” and showed audiences a look at all of the songs you can expect from the new game.

What is Stage Tour?
RedOctane Games is a studio built by veterans of the original music rhythm game era alongside leading developers and creators from the rhythm gaming community. In the studio’s own words, “Stage Tour honors everything fans loved about the golden age of music games while building something new and fresh.”
But while this is very much the Guitar Hero millennials have been waiting for, it’s really a Rock Band resurrection. With Guitar, Drums, Microphone, or Gamepad, the game will feature a massive setlist spanning six decades and feature the true hallmark of those franchises: a true Gibson guitar collection. Additionally, players can choose from 50 bandmates and either learn the game or work up a sweat in game modes designed for all levels of challenge.
The game is designed to be inclusive, bringing friends, family, and fellow music lovers together to rock out as a team. Supporting cross-platform online co-op play, as well as online leaderboards, there will always be something new to experience, and for those playing alone, Tour Mode offers a dedicated single-player experience, playable with either Guitar Controller or Gamepad.
Stage Tour Game Modes:
- Quickplay
- Practice
- Judgments (accuracy focused, new mode)
- Karaoke (casual mode)
- Tour Mode: All-new roguelite-inspired single-player experience where fans choose their path, pick their bandmates, and hit the road.
