Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin has been a labor of love since its inception. Players worldwide were invited by Behaviour Interactive to lend their voice in creating a chapter that was entirely theirs, selecting from a series of choices to create something unique and exciting for both the developers and players to partake in. What better way to usher in the next ten years of Dead by Daylight than something born from the community like this?

Now, Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin launches into Steam Public Test Build (PTB) today, giving players a chance to try out this community-built chapter for the first time. It’s another chance for the community to make their voice heard in what has been an all-intensive community experience for this chapter.

But first, let’s get into what the community’s voice has created, and what they can expect from their creations below.

The Judgement and its Perks

The Judgement early concept art for Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin

The official killer of Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin, The Judgement is an otherworldly being that has destroyed the world it came from. And in the Fog, it shall destroy everything it sets its eyes on once more.

Through a summoning that brings forth a pillar of divine light, The Judgement can injure Survivors and mark them with Heresy. When downed, marked Survivors may be sent into Exile: a realm of eternal punishment where Survivors must do everything to, well, survive or risk expediting their loss at the hands of The Judgement.

Here are the three perks The Judgement wields:

  • Celestial Witness – This perk allows The Judgement to briefly see the aura of your Obsession from a great distance, bridging the gap and allowing The Judgement greater ease in locating all.
  • Hex: Under Your Thumb – This perk allows The Judgement to slow down Survivors after they gain a Hook State for the first time. This can all be done by igniting a Dull Totem.
  • Lay Waste – Every time The Judgement destroys a generator, Lay Waste makes repairs regress faster the further it has been repaired by Survivors.

Aurora Stardotter and her Perks

The official Survivor of Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin, Aurora Stardotter is a spiritual scientist from the world cast down and destroyed by The Judgement. Making waves as the first older female Survivor to be introduced to the DBD universe, Aurora Stardotter is sure to make waves.

Here are the three perks Aurora Stardotter carries:

Fruits of Your Labor – This perk allows players to stack up tokens as you complete repairing Generators. The more tokens you have, the more your health and Haste increase upon completion of repairs. Hence, these are the fruits of your labor.

Salvation’s Cry – Upon activation, Salvation’s Cry enables the player to see the auras of other Survivors for a brief time, and they can see yours in kind. It offers brief respite and relief for fellow Survivors, particularly as The Judgement hunts you down with no remorse.

Boon Steadfast – This creates a Boon Totem that will aid in slowing down generator regression and help Survivors repair broken generators faster. This is a great “boon” for Survivors who want to get things done quickly and efficiently within the game.

Can you play Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin now?

Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin is currently available as part of the Steam Public Test Build (PTB). It releases officially on August 25, 2026.

But What IS Dead by Daylight?

For those new to this behemoth of horror gaming, Dead by Daylight, developed by Behaviour Interactive, is an asymmetrical multiplayer experience that pits survivors against a killer. In the game, you are trapped forever in a realm of cosmic evil by The Entity, and play as either one of four determined Survivors or the bloodthirsty Killer hunting them. It’s a cool twist to the Slasher genre.

Initially released in 2016, this asymmetrical horror game has continuously expanded its roster of characters to include countless iconic horror properties from film, television, gaming, and beyond. From its large community to the multitude of character options to choose from, jumping into new games doesn’t require as much catching up as you might think.

With its recent 10th anniversary celebration, Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin is one of many things players can expect as part of Behaviour Interactive’s plans for the game’s future.
