Summer Game Fest keeps getting bigger, with new additions to old franchises. Jagex: The RuneScape Company announced that RuneScape Dragonwilds will officially leave Steam Early Access and launch in full on September 15, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, during the summer showcase.

The full 1.0 launch marks a major milestone for one of 2026’s breakout survival crafting games, following a hugely successful Steam Early Access period that has already seen RuneScape: Dragonwilds surpass one million sales.

“Our community has been at the heart of RuneScape Dragonwilds from day one,” said Jesse America, Executive Producer of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, in a release to press. “Every update throughout Early Access has been shaped by player feedback, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built together. Launching 1.0 this September is a huge milestone for the team, and we’re excited to continue growing RuneScape: Dragonwilds with players for years to come.”

Additionally, the game will launch simultaneously across PC and consoles for the first time. The full release will include the brand-new Scorned Wilderness update, along with all content from the upcoming Umbral Sands expansion, arriving later this Summer.

Jagex also shared the game’s official synopsis, which you can read below:

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is an open-world, co-op, crafting, and survival game, and the first standalone title to join Jagex’s iconic medieval MMORPG franchise, which people have been in love with for decades. In the game, Players embark solo or in teams of four across Gielinor’s previously unexplored continent of Ashenfall, expanding the franchise. Players will be on an epic quest to discover why untamed, transformative magic spills across the fractured land.

Through the power of magic that flows through the anima-rich landscape, players can not only obtain powerful spells to get them through battles, but find their practical uses as well, as they collect items and craft things to help them throughout their journey. In this land riddled with fierce dragons, players must level up skills, prepare potions, and craft gear as they carve a path through these ferocious beasts and make their way to the Dragon Queen herself.

The developers also shared an exhaustive list of the game’s upcoming features, which you can read as they have presented below:

  • RuneScape at its core!: Embark on quests, level skills while exploring a beautiful, hand-crafted world. This all-new adventure blends high-fantasy and iconic RuneScape lore on an undiscovered continent. Battle legendary RuneScape creatures like Zogres, challenge Black Knights and the entirely new and fearsome Garou, all set to a sweeping soundtrack of reorchestrated RuneScape classics and hours of brand-new music.
  • Grind Skills, Slay Dragons: Locate them, throw down the gauntlet, and carve a path to the Dragon Queen herself. Follow the trail of destruction and uncover the mysteries of the continent to learn not just how to confront the dragons, but how to overcome them.
  • Survival Through Sorcery: Summon a spectral axe to fell trees in an instant! Blink away from danger in a cloud of magic. Turn bones into… peaches? The Anima-rich landscape of Ashenfall offers a power unlike any other. Conjure a tornado of fish from a lake! Explode ore veins with a snap of your fingers! Journey through the vibrant regions of Ashenfall, discover why wild magic spills from the fractured lands and harness that power to survive!
  • Community Driven, Player Centric: Like all RuneScape games, community is at the heart of RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Whether players are adventuring with friends or going it alone, every opinion matters, and it’s up to the community to help shape the future of our game.
