Summer Game Fest is upon us, with PlayStation kicking the door down with a new State of Play 2026. The presentation ran for just over 75 minutes, packed full of deep dives into new games coming to the PS5 in the coming year. It was a great start to the summer festivities, offering a number of updates on games we knew about while also dropping some fun new announcements.

PlayStation has had a pretty decent track record with their State of Plays recently, with this latest one being one of their all-time best. It had something for everyone, offering a good blend of genres from PlayStation Studios and its partners. It’s interesting they ran with the State of Play moniker rather than a Showcase, which we haven’t actually seen since 2023.
