Ancient Forge released the Winter Rework Update for their title, Hotel Galactic, resetting the stage for early access and even a new DLC. Currently available on Steam at a 25% discount during the Winter Sale, the update comes at just the right time for new players to jump in.
About the release of the new Winter Rework Update, Producer Ida Szczecińska commented in a release to press, “Hotel Galactic’s redemption begins now. After a rough Early Access release, we restructured our leadership—starting with putting the right person in the COO chair—and rebuilt the game around the vision players were promised. We’re grateful for a second chance from our investor and hope our community will join us in this new chapter.”

The Winter Rework Update aims to deliver a complete rebuild of the game’s core systems and lay out a stronger foundation for what Ancient Forge’s ongoing Early Access development will evolve into. With the update, the studio has also released a free DLC, a new trailer, and a demo. But that’s not all, the update also brings festive decorations, a Winter Contest, and Twitch Drops with in-game rewards rolling out throughout the rest of December 2025.

The Winter Rework Update offers a comprehensive overhaul to story content and systems alike. In its press release, Ancient Forge listed several core feature updates players can expect. But the important bit is about how much the studio has invested in QoL updates and optimization. You can read them in their entirety below:
- Comprehensive systems overhaul: Rebuilt NPC behavior and resolved core logic issues to stabilize the hotel’s day-to-day operations.
- Expanded Act 1 content: New narrative additions, including a full VIP questline centered on Princess Pavonis.
- Significant new features: Rating System, Hotel Compendium, Guest Needs, and extended building floors for larger layouts.
- Redesigned systems and quality-of-life improvements: Updated Research Tree, cleaner UI/HUD, workers’ tasks optimization, and numerous adjustments that improve pacing.
- Balancing and optimization: Broad performance and gameplay refinements to ensure a smoother, more consistent experience.

What is the Hotel Galactic Winter Contest?
Ancient Forge’s Hotel Galactic Winter Contest will give players a chance to win one of the 50 rewards. To enter the contest, players are asked to answer one question: Who is the new guest arriving at Hotel Galactic? Piecing together the answer, players will be able to enter.
For additional entries, players can connect their social media accounts to the giveaway page. At the same time, they try to find the secret password located somewhere on the Hotel Galactic Steam page.

What are the Hotel Galactic Twitch Drops?
To celebrate the Winter Rework Update, Hotel Galactic is also hosting Twitch Drops happening from December 18, 2025 through December 22, 2025, and December 23, 2025 through December 28, 2025.
Participating will allow players to earn up to six exclusive in-game items by tuning into Hotel Galactic streams on the Ancient Forge Twitch channel on December 18th, 19th, and 23rd.
