G-STAR 2025 has been a big convention for Netmarble with updates on their titles, including debut game demos. Adding to that list, Netmarble has also let fans at the event play the first-ever demo for Solo Leveling KARMA, a video game based on the hit webtoon, which has become an anime, a video game, and has been set for a live-action Netflix adaptation too.

Solo Leveling: KARMA is taking the franchise into roguelite territory. Billed as a roguelite action RPG, the game held its first offline playable showcase in Busan, South Korea.

“We are thrilled to present Solo Leveling KARMA in a public, hands-on environment for the first time,” said Executive Producer Do Hyung Kwon from Netmarble Neo in a comment released to the press. “G-STAR 2025 allowed us to gather valuable feedback directly from players, and we will continue refining the experience as development progresses.”

In addition to the demo, Solo Leveling KARMA also released a game opening animation in partnership with A-1 Pictures Inc., the animation studio behind the anime series. The opening animation shows protagonist Sung Jinwoo returning to the Dimensional Gap to begin his decades-long war against the Monarchs.

First Reveal of the Solo Leveling: KARMA Opening!

The special Solo Leveling: KARMA opening has its first reveal at G-STAR 2025! Experience the story of the 27-year monarch war in Solo Leveling: KARMA.

What did we learn from the Solo Leveling KARMA demo?

Solo Leveling: Karma - the Solo Leveling Roguelite game

The demo allowed players to experience two dedicated demo modes designed to highlight the game’s core combat loop: Time Attack Dungeon and Event Dungeon. Both of the demo modes highlighted bosses that are pulled from the series.

  • Time Attack Dungeon: A fast-paced boss-clearing mode with a focus on competition.
  • Event Dungeon: A mode that showcases large-scale wave battles and was featured in live creator showdown sessions, where each demonstrated varied weapon and Blessing builds.

What is Solo Leveling: KARMA about?

Jinwoo in Solo Leveling: Karma - the Solo Leveling Roguelite game

Solo Leveling: KARMA expands the universe of the series with a new storyline set in the Dimensional Gap, where Sung Jinwoo endures a prolonged conflict among Monarchs. Embracing the game genre, players recover fragments of Jinwoo’s lost memories to restore the Broken Cup of Reincarnation. This helps define the narrative progression, and the repetition influences the gameplay challenge.

Solo Leveling: KARMA Key Features

  • Isometric hack-and-slash combat system: Players are allowed to adapt their combat style through different types of weapons across daggers, scythes, and bows, all of which are featured in the webtoon and anime, with some surprise. Each weapon also supports responsive evasion and counters.
  • Blessing System: Blessings allow players to customize builds, while iconic Shadows like Igris can be summoned to execute powerful coordinated attacks.

What is the release date?

Solo Leveling: KARMA is currently in development for mobile and PC, but has no set release date.
