My Happy Marriage has been one of the best anime series since it landed on Netflix. And, it’s coming back. Kadokawa Animation announced that My Happy Marriage special episodes are on the way. It will be a brand-new three-episode series and will stream worldwide on Netflix in 2026.
To celebrate the announcement, Netflix and Kadokawa Animation released a new illustrated artwork to highlight the relationship we have been following. Miyo is shown in her white wedding kimono, and Kiyoka gently offers her a parasol, capturing the care we have seen demonstrated and grow into throughout the series.
About the three new special episodes, the original light novel author, Akumi Agitogi, shared this comment via a release to press:
“The three-episode special episodes of the My Happy Marriage anime has been officially confirmed! Thanks to the wonderful staff and the many devoted fans, we will once again be able to see Miyo and Kiyoka’s ‘happy marriage’ brought to life in anime form. I believe this will turn into a truly beautiful wedding, and I would be delighted if many people could join us in celebrating it.”

What to expect from My Happy Marriage Special Episodes?

With two seasons already on Netflix, My Happy Marriage is sharing three all-new episodes with fans. While they haven’t revealed the official synopsis for the My Happy Marriage special episodes, we do know that the series will be looking at what Miyo and Kiyoka’s life looks like now that they’re married. Both seiyuu, Ueda and Ishikawa, will be returning to their roles with Season 1 and Season 2 director, Takehiro Kubota, also returning.
Kadokawa Animation did share comments from the cast, which helped set expectations for viewers. For Reina Ueda, the voice behind our protagonist Miyo Saimori, she commented, “I’ve always hoped to see how Miyo—who has learned to accept both being loved and loving someone in return—would continue her life with her beloved husband. Reading the script, I found myself smiling at the sweetness and charm of Miyo and Kiyoka’s relationship.”
Additionally, Kaito Ishikawa, the voice of Kiyoka Kudou, had a similar comment, “Throughout My Happy Marriage, we saw Miyo and Kiyoka’s bond deepen, and I’m truly excited that we’ll be able to witness what comes next. Please look forward to discovering how their story continues as the two overcome hardships and weave their future together.”
