Paramount+ has announced a December 2025 release date for the streamer’s six-part psychological thriller Little Disasters. The limited series has already premiered in the U.K. and Ireland, and is adapted from the bestselling novel by Sarah Vaughan, Anatomy of a Scandal.

This limited series is anchored by a cast including Diane Kruger, Jo Joyner, Shelley Conn, and Emily Taaffe. The series was adapted for the screen by Ruth Fowler and Amanda Duke. Executive producers for Roughcut Television are Ash Atalla, Alex Smith, and Marianna Abbotts, with author Sarah Vaughan also serving as an executive producer.

The show, directed by BAFTA nominee Eva Sigurðardóttir, aims to blend realism with suspense to create an intimate yet unnerving portrayal of the complexities of modern motherhood, where it can go wrong, and when friendship means saying something. The announcement was accompanied by the debut of the series’ teaser trailer, key art, and synopsis, which you can see below.

What is Little Disasters about?

If you were a fan of The Slap, then this series may be for you. The series centers on a decade-long friendship between four expectant mothers named Jess, Liz, Charlotte, and Mel. The four women are brought together by their matching due dates and maintain a close bond throughout their journey through motherhood.

But the friendship isn’t all smooth sailing. When Jess, a seemingly perfect stay-at-home mother, takes her baby daughter to the hospital with a head injury, she cannot adequately explain it.

Her close friend, Liz, who is an on-duty emergency room doctor, is faced with the agonizing dilemma of whether or not to contact social services. Liz’s single decision sets off a destructive chain of events that fractures their entire friendship group and threatens to destroy their families.

What is the release date for Little Disasters?

The psychological thriller has a release date set for December 11, 2025, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, GSA, Italy, and Latin America. Like other streamers (AMC+) that have adapted previously released international series to their own brand in the US, this limited series is set to bring new audiences to the story.
