Netflix has released the teaser trailer for its upcoming sci-fi disaster film, The Great Flood, which is set to premiere on December 19, 2025. The film, directed by Kim Byung-woo, is a gripping tale of survival on what may be the last day on Earth, as a catastrophic flood submerges the world.

Kim Byung-woo is known for their work on the film adaptation of the webtoon Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy, and Take Point (PMC: Deo beong-keo). The story centers on a handful of survivors trapped in a sinking apartment building, with star turns by Kim Da-mi and Park Hae-soo. The film is also slated to have its premiere at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

The trailer opens on a serene, ordinary morning for An-na, an artificial intelligence researcher, and her son, Ja-in. This peace is abruptly shattered by a record-breaking flood that engulfs their world. As rain continues to fall and floodwaters rise, the film’s tense realism immerses viewers in their desperate struggle to escape.

The high-stakes journey culminates in a rooftop standoff where An-na is faced with an impossible decision. Their fight for survival takes on a new dimension with the arrival of Hee-jo, a member of a security team who carries a mysterious mission that may hold the key to humanity’s future.

The trailer also hints at larger secrets, including a rocket launching into space and unknown golden fragments, promising a story that challenges the boundaries of survival and imagination.
