One Piece Season 2 is going to set sail in 2026. For now, the latest trailer for the new season gives fans of the hit live-action series plenty to be excited for. Luffy and his crew’s journey for the One Piece treasure continues as they sail through the Grand Line. As the One Piece Season 2 cast is released, their travels will introduce new characters to their story.
Like the first season, One Piece Season 2 will adapt key arcs from its source material, such as Loguetown, Little Garden, Reverse Mountain, Drum Island, and Alabasta. Each of which will bring many fan-favorite stories and characters to life.
Thanks to the most recently confirmed castings and trailer, we know which characters the One Piece Season 2 cast will bring to life. Also, given that the second season of Netflix’s One Piece spans several arcs from the source material, there’s a good chance some rumored characters will also appear.
The One Piece Season 2 cast is bringing characters to life, from courageous Marines to shadowy criminal masterminds, royal allies, and a specific blue-nosed reindeer doctor; these newcomers will be foes or friends to Luffy and his crew. This article breaks down the key characters to expect from the One Piece Season 2 cast.
Smoker
Played by: Callum Kerr
Marine Captain Smoker has a strong sense of justice and honor and is known for his stoic demeanor and unwavering pursuit of pirates. In the source material, Smoker first appears in the Logutown Arc, where he meets and pursues Luffy. Smoker possesses the Moku-Moku no Mi devil fruit, translated as the Plume-Plume Fruit, which gives the ability to control and turn himself into smoke.
Smoker and his smoke-based powers make him a challenging adversary for Luffy, who will push the young pirate to his limits. Smoker’s introduction to the live-action marks a new challenger that will try to stand in the way of Luffy’s dream as he pursues the Straw Hat Pirates. It will be interesting to watch where Smoker’s pursuit of Luffy takes him in One Piece Season 2.
Tashigi
Played by: Julia Rehwald
Tashigi is a young Marine officer who is Smoker’s right-hand and is a talented swordswoman. Tashigi’s appearance bears a very strong resemblance to Zoro’s deceased childhood friend, Kuina. So much so that Zoro even becomes slightly unsettled by how much Tashigi reminds him of his friend and rival.
Tashigi‘s presence and addition to the live-action will most likely be a new rival and adversary with whom Zoro can cross blades. Personality-wise, Tashigi is very kind and compassionate, but that can sometimes cause an inner conflict with her duties as a marine.
Monkey D. Dragon
Played by: Rigo Sanchez
Monkey D. Dragon is the son of Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp and the father of the self-proclaimed future King of the Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy. Early in the One Piece series, Dragon is a character shrouded in mystery who intervenes in Smoker’s capture of Luffy, unbeknownst to the latter.
The character makes a few appearances throughout the series but plays a vital role as the leader of the Revolutionary Army, who works to oppose the World Government’s tyrannical rule. Dragon may not play a huge part in One Piece, Season 2, in the live-action, but his addition to the story could introduce more political struggles and battles.
Dory & Brogy
Played by: Werner Coester and Brendan Sean Murray
Dory, also known as Dory the Blue Orge, is one of the two giant warriors from the land of giants, Elbaf, that Luffy and his friends happen to meet at Little Garden. Dory was once co-captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates alongside his trusted friend Brogy. However, Dory and Brogy had a disagreement, which led to them dueling for about a century on Little Garden.
Brogy, also known as Brogy the Red Ogre, is another legendary giant warrior from Elbaf encountered by the Straw Hats on Little Garden. Brogy once served as co-captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates with his longtime friend Dory. Until one day, Brogy became locked in a century-long duel after a disagreement with Dory, which quickly escalated into a battle of honor.
Both Dory and Brogy’s introductions bring the giants to life in the live-action series and set up the rich culture and formidable might of Elbaf, a kingdom destined to play a major role in the Straw Hats’ future.
Laboon
Played by: TBD
Laboon is a ginormous Island Whale of epic proportions who lives at the entrance of the Grand Line. Decades before the start of the series, Laboon grew very close to another pirate crew. Laboon was still young and could not go with the crew, so the pirates promised to return and play with him again.
Unfortunately, years passed, and the crew never returned, leaving Laboon heartbroken. Luffy and his crew similarly bond with Laboon, and before they set out, Luffy promises they will return and see Laboon again, too.
Crocus
Played by: Clive Russell
Crocus is a lighthouse keeper and the caretaker of Laboon. Back in the day, Crocus was a ship doctor to the former Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. Crocus’s introduction to the story and connection to the Pirate King make him a quietly important figure in the larger story.
This information is not revealed to Luffy and the Straw Hats until much later. In the series, Crocus helps the Straw Hats navigate the dangerous waters of the Grand Line’s entrance. In the second season, we can be sure Crocus will also give Luffy and his friends a helping hand on their journey.
Tony Tony Chopper
Played by: Mikaela Hoover
Chopper, full name Tony Tony Chopper, is the blue-nosed reindeer who accidentally ate the devil fruit known as Hito Hito no Mi, translated as the Human-Human fruit. The devil fruit’s powers did not turn Chopper into a human. Instead, it allowed Chopper to speak and think like a human and transform into various forms. Before eating the Devil Fruit, Chopper was ostracized by his herd for being born with an odd blue nose.
After eating the devil’s fruit, his entire herd, including his parents, further alienated him. This led to Chopper becoming very self-conscious. Thankfully, we were able to befriend Drs. Kureha and Hiriluk later inspired Chopper’s dream of becoming a doctor who could cure any illness. Chopper is destined to join Luffy’s crew as the Straw Hats’ ship doctor, who will help keep the crew healthy and safe on their journey.
Dr. Kureha
Played by: Katey Sagal
Dr. Kureha is a sharp-witted, eccentric doctor and another mentor and adoptive guardian to Chopper. Although some residents refer to her as a “witch,” she’s an amazing healer whose care is unparalleled by other doctors on Drum Island.
Despite her aggressive behavior and brash personality, she takes caring for people very seriously. Even goes so far as to threaten her patients if they do not follow her instructions. Her medical wisdom and unconventional ways also help shape Chopper’s philosophy as a doctor.
Dr. Hiriluk
Played by: Mark Harelik
Dr. Hiriluk is an idealistic, warm-hearted man who believes in the healing power of hope. Although Dr. Hiriluk is very compassionate and dedicated to healing people, he is not a good doctor in traditional medicine. Instead, he is referred to as a “quack doctor” for his experiments and sometimes harmful treatments.
Shortly after Chopper was abandoned by his herd, Dr. Hiriluk adopted him and took Chopper under his wing as his mentor. Hiriluk plays a significant role in inspiring Chopper’s dream to become a doctor who cares for and cures any illness.
Dalton
Played by: Ty Keough
Dalton is a strong, brave warrior who appears in the Drum Island Arc along with Chopper. Dalton cares deeply for the residents of Drum Island, but despite his caring nature, Dalton serves under a tyrannical king who served under the spoiled, tyrannical king, Wapol.
Eventually, Dalton becomes disillusioned with Warpol’s cruelty and finally takes up arms to protect the kingdom’s people and becomes an ally to the Straw Hats during their time in the snowy kingdom. Dalton’s confirmed appearance in One Piece Season 2 will surely involve him partnering with Luffy’s crew again.
Wapol
Played by: Rob Colletti
Wapol is the ruling king of Drum Kingdom, where Chopper resides. Wapol’s father was a kind king who was loved by all his subjects. After his father’s death, Wapol’s cruel reign began. One of Wapol’s decrees involved exiling and imprisoning doctors so that he could control his subjects through medical care.
In One Piece Season 2, Wapol will be a minor antagonist to Luffy and the Straw Hats. However, Luffy’s involvement with taking down Wapol and liberating the Drum Kingdom will lead to Chopper joining his crew.
Miss All-Sunday/ Nico Robin
Played by: Lera Abova
Nico Robin, also known by the code name Miss All-Sunday, serves as Crocodile’s right hand in the criminal organization Baroque Works. Robin is a mysterious and brilliant woman who possesses the Flower-Flower Devil Fruit, allowing her to grow any body part from nearly any surface.
Robin’s vast knowledge of history and archeology makes her a tremendous asset to any pirate crew. In the original series, although Robin works for Crocodile, she does lend a helping hand to Luffy and his crew before joining them later. In One Piece Season 2, Robin’s confirmation hints at bigger mysteries and discoveries for Luffy and his friends.
Miss Wednesday/ Princess Vivi Nefertari
Played by: Charitha Chandran
Introduced initially to Luffy and the Straw Hats as a Baroque Works agent, referred to as Miss Wednesday. In actuality, Vivi is really the princess of the desert kingdom, Alabasta. Vivi joined Baroque Works to infiltrate Crocodile’s organization to stop a civil war in her homeland that he had instigated.
Vivi’s courageous nature, loyalty, and compassion for her fellow man make her a great ally to the Straw Hats’ early adventures. One Piece Season 2 will surely have Vivi tag along with Luffy and the gang for quite some time until they can defeat Crocodile and save Alabasta.
Crocodile
Played by: Joe Manganiello
Sir Crocodile is a cunning, business-savvy pirate who is also one of the feared Seven Warlords of the Sea. Additionally, Crocodile possesses powers from the Sand-Sand Devil Fruit. The fruit allows him to control sand and drain moisture from anything using his touch.
In addition to his status as a Warlord, Crocodile also secretly sits at the top of his mysterious criminal organization, Baroque Works, under the codename, Mr.0. In the original series, Crocodile uses his special privileges and status as a Warlord to take over the Alabasta kingdom. Crocodile’s presence in the live-action will serve as the biggest adversary for Luffy in One Piece Season 2.
Portgas D. Ace
Played by: TBD
Portgas D. Ace, known throughout the seas as “Fire Fist Ace,” is Luffy’s older brother. Ace is a strong and renowned pirate. He has the power of the Mera Mera no Mi Devil Fruit (Flame-Flame Fruit) that allows him to create and command fire at will, which includes making his entire body fire. In the original series, during the Alabasta Arc, Ace briefly crosses paths with Luffy and the Straw Hats.
Although official casting for Ace in the live-action has not been confirmed yet, there is a good chance he may appear towards the end of the season or, at the very least, make a brief cameo that leads into season three.
One Piece Season 2 will take Luffy and his friends to new, exciting places and meet new people. From Loguetown, Little Garden, Drum Island, and the sands of Alabasta, Luffy and his friends are in for more epic adventures on the Grand Line. Fans can expect unforgettable encounters that will raise the stakes in the Straw Hats’ journey for the One Piece.
