Adding to the growing list of Korean idol (K-pop) groups that have collaborated with video games, aespa steps into Street Fighter 6. After hitting five million global sales and its recent Switch 2 release, Street Fighter 6 announced its brand-new collaboration.

Capcom is teaming up with the globally popular South Korean K-Pop group aespa in a crossover event that brings themed items, a new outfit for Juri, and a unique commentator to the game. You can watch the new content coming for a limited time at the end of this article via the released trailer.

Aespa joins BTS’s Min Yoongi (SUGA), who collaborated with Halsey for Diablo IV, Le Sserafim, who helped launch Overwatch 2, Blackpink’s collaboration with PUBG Mobile, G(i)dle, New Jeans, and TWICE, who have all collaborated with RIOT’s League of Legends, Enhypen’s Pokémon collab, BTS’s Kim Seok-jin (Jin), who collaborated with MapleStory, Dreamcatcher’s time with King’s Raid, and Stray Kids’ item featured in NBA 2K24, and many more.

But that’s not all for fans excited for the latest K-pop and gaming collaboration. This collaboration follows other recent announcements for Street Fighter 6, in which Capcom confirmed the return of fan-favorite character Sagat in August, with his Fighting Pass content also slated for release on July 4, 2025.

Additionally, Capcom recently revealed its next batch of Outfit 4 designs for seven other cast members, themed around swimwear, which will drop alongside Sagat on August 5.

Who is aespa?

Formed by SM Entertainment, æspa is a South Korean girl group that consists of four members: Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning. The girl group merges K-pop with a futuristic narrative involving both human members and their accompanying AI avatars, exploring themes of identity and connectivity.  The group debuted in 2020, with their hit single “Black Mamba,” which achieved the highest number of views in 24 hours for a K-pop group’s debut video.

What can fans expect from the collaboration?

Battle Hub Takeover

Fans can look forward to a complete transformation of Street Fighter 6’s online Battle Hub, which will feature Aespa-themed decorations.

When players log in during the event to claim special in-game rewards, including new titles, device wallpapers, and photo frames that showcase the K-Pop stars, this will happen between Friday, July 4, 2025 12:00am – Monday, August 4, 2025 7:59pm PDT. All players who log in during this period will also receive a free “æconic” collaboration item!

New Juri Outfit

Players will get to purchase Juri: Outfit 4 feat. æspa (Color 1-10), inspired by æspa’s concepts and motifs from their past album, is available at the in-game shop for 350 Fighter Coins. This outfit can be purchased for a limited time from Friday, July 4, 2025, 12:00am – Friday, July 3, 2026, 11:59pm PDT.

Aespa Street Fighter 6 - Naevi commentator

Naevi becomes a commentator

Popular virtual artist nævis, well-known in the world of æspa’s music, will appear as the game’s newest real-time commentator and the first-ever virtual artist added to the commentator roster, with Korean, Japanese, and English languages available!

Known as æspa’s sidekick, nævis was created by SM Entertainment as their first virtual artist, making her debut in 2020 on æspa’s debut single and releasing her first independent single in 2024. As a curious navigator who has emerged from the digital world into the real world, nævis’ unique reactions are a must-listen for æspa fans.

Special Collaboration Items

Special collaborative photo frames, device backgrounds, and titles will be obtainable by accessing the “æspa x Street Fighter 6 Collaboration News” in-game from Friday, July 4, 2025 12:00am – Monday, August 4, 2025 7:59pm PDT.

Street Fighter 6’s Aespa collaboration items become available across all versions of the game, including the Switch 2, on July 4, 2025.
