Titan Forge Games has released the eighth and 2024’s final patch for SMITE 2’s Closed Alpha before the free-to-play launch early next year. The update introduces three new Gods to the game and adds a special The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim Event to SMITE and SMITE 2.

The three gods joining SMITE 2

There are already a plethora of gods to pick and choose from in the game. However, Titan Forge Games has added three more gods to the mix. And all three pack a wallop!

The Greek Goddess of Beauty, Aphrodite, is a powerful support God in SMITE 2. Her abilities allow her to heal and protect teammates, strengthen their attacks, and charm enemies to move away from the goddess. Aphrodite is a great choice for team-oriented players who like to keep their allies safe during fights.

Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of Fire, Dance, Wind, Volcanoes, and Violence. With her explosive abilities and fast-paced melee attacks, the goddess charges into fights, dealing burst damage to foes with her powerful combos.

Medusa is a fearful snake-haired Gorgon in Greek mythology. In SMITE 2, she deals rapid damage to enemies with her venomous ranged attacks. Medusa’s ultimate ability – the petrifying gaze – turns foes looking at her into stone, offering strong crowd control during team fights.

But that’s not all. Rounding off all of this new content, players will find a wealth of tweaks, balance adjustments, and bug fixes based on their SMITE 2 feedback.

What about the special The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim event?

The upcoming anime film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim returns fans to the epic Middle-earth universe this December. Set 183 years before the events chronicled in the original trilogy of films, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim tells the fate of the House of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan.

A sudden attack by Wulf, a clever and ruthless Dunlending lord seeking vengeance for the death of his father, forces Helm and his people to make a daring last stand in the ancient stronghold of the Hornburg— a mighty fortress that will later come to be known as Helm’s Deep. Finding herself in an increasingly desperate situation, Héra, the daughter of Helm, must summon the will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy intent on their total destruction.

To celebrate the upcoming release, Titan Forge Games launches a dedicated event in SMITE and SMITE 2. Players can now earn a variety of unique cosmetics from the movie for the respective title by simply playing 10 games.

The largest of Hi-Rez’s in-house studios, with a player base in excess of 40 million, Titan Forge Games houses the team behind the BAFTA award-winning game SMITE. Delivering god-like, action-packed and accessible video game worlds, with mythological origins and modern themes. They are devoted to exploring and investing in the potential that the SMITE universe offers players, enabling a global audience to experience competition on an epic scale with a worldwide cast.

All of this hard work is seen in the numerous patches they’ve implemented and the new gods they keep creating for the latest installment, SMITE 2. For guaranteed access to the closed testing, the Founder’s Edition can be purchased on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Epic Games Store. Players can also wishlist SMITE 2 on Steam and register to participate in alpha testing on the official website.
