Takamatsu serializes the original manga in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine since August 2018, with 10 volumes released in Japan to date. Kotomi Deai directed and wrote the series composition for the first season of the TV anime at studio P.A.Works, with character designs by Manami Umeshita, and music by Takatsugu Wakabayashi.

What happened in Skip and Loafer Season 1?

Skip and Loafer Season 2

Skip and Loafer Season 1 throws a country girl into a big city situation. This country girl is ready for the big city! Well, at least she thought she was. Mitsumi’s dream is to attend a prestigious school and make the world a better place. But when she finally gets to Tokyo, it turns out she isn’t exactly prepared for city life. Luckily, she runs into Shima, a sweet and handsome classmate who becomes her first friend! Can she make it in Tokyo with Shima by her side?

Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired in Japan in 2023. Our writer called Skip and Loafer Season 1 ” formidable due to the tender heart it wears on its sleeve, demonstrative of strong, defining artistry and coherent animation that flows at a patient, immersive pace.”

They went further in saying, “The characters themselves are the heart of the series, with Mitsumi, in particular, being a breath of fresh air as far as protagonists go, but the entire series exemplifies the magic that happens when all parties involved are creating art to serve the same purpose and doing so with palpable love and joy over the story they’re telling.”

With the strong start of Season 1, Season 2 is sure to delight upon release. Stay tuned for more news!
