The world of Sonic the Hedgehog is expanding with the latest series, Knuckles, and its new trailer. The event series from Paramount Pictures and SEGA of America will run six episodes, all available to stream on April 26 exclusively on Paramount+. The series arrives with its Sonic key team, including Ben Schwartz, who will guest star, reprising his role. Created by John Whittington and Toby Ascher, the series looks to maintain the spirit of the first two films while transitioning the blend of mediums from film to television. The series, starring Idris Elba, takes place in between the films Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

The trailer teases the fish out of water adventure the titular character goes through in the upcoming series. Fans can see more of this world along with the new official trailer during the CBS Television Network’s Super Bowl LVIII pregame broadcast on February 11. Tune in for an all-new Knuckles Spot, which will also be featured in Nickelodeon’s special kids and family broadcast. It’s a big year for the Sonic world, with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 due to be released in theaters on December 20, 2024.
