The Walking Dead: The Last Mile

Skybound Entertainment and Genvid Entertainment today announced that the Facebook exclusive The Walking Dead: Last Mile (TWD:LM) begins the first episode of Act One. This all-new The Walking Dead experience continues its four-month run with new story content that unfolds daily with key decisions being impacted by fan feedback. At the end of the story’s Prologue, the death of a key member in the Village faction, coupled with news that a harsh winter will soon arrive, creates a grim outlook for the survivors of Prosper Landing, Alaska. Will the factions band together to face the looming threats, or will tensions reach a boiling point? Ultimately the fans will decide what becomes the official canon. TWD:LM is the first-ever entertainment experience to run live across both Facebook Watch and Facebook Gaming.

“The Walking Dead: Last Mile is a completely immersive and audience-driven experience for TWD,” said Shawn Kittelsen, VP of Creative Development at Skybound Entertainment. “In TWD:LM, fans will make life-or-death choices together as a community for the first time. The results, such as the death of a main character during the prologue, will not only shape the lives of the inhabitants of Prosper Landing as new acts unfold but determine the fate of their future in the franchise.”

“Thanks to the hundreds of thousands of fans who participated in the Prologue, we’ve made significant improvements to the look and feel of the product,” said Jacob Navok, CEO of Genvid Entertainment. “Each day that passes and we see the story changing, we see how the audience has been instrumental in not just shaping the TWD:LM world and narrative, they’ve also helped shape the product.”

TWD:LM is an experience shaped by the fans, and the Instant Game provides continuous access to the TWD:LM world and its inhabitants, allowing viewers to create their own survivor, earn Influence Points through mini-games and activities, and then bid those points on decisions large and small, impacting the story as it progresses. The story kicks into high gear with the first of three four-week Acts that will air consecutively through mid-November, resulting in one of the most epic storylines within The Walking Dead universe.

Throughout TWD: LM’s four-month run, Yvette Nicole Brown and Felicia Day will continue to host regular Facebook livestreams highlighting the big moments that propel the TWD:LM narrative forward, discussing the story with special guests, and revealing key decisions made by the audience in the Instant Game. Yvette Nicole Brown’s next livestream is set to debut today at 4 PM Pacific Time, where she will reveal a new cinematic that sets up the action to come in Act One. In addition, Felicia Day will be hosting a stream this Friday, August 26, during which she will play the TWD:LM Instant Game live with a surprise guest host. Fans can catch up on all of the previous action in the weekly recaps hosted on the TWD:LM Facebook page.
