Arknights: Endfield, the live-service action-adventure game from the developers at Hypergryph and publisher GRYPHLINE, held its regular preview stream to showcase what players can expect from its next major update: “Dreamscape of Wind and Snow,” which is slated for release on September 2, 2026. With the Very Large Rift no longer threatening Wuling, it looks like Endfield Industries will be turning its attention to much colder climates.
The trailer that showcased the live stream highlighted some interesting elements for players to absorb. The icy setting of the supernatural Snowy Forest looks interesting and is definitely a striking departure from the lush greenery that players have spent the last eight months exploring. Chilling snowscapes and shimmering auroas highlight what we see, promising a spellbinding location to explore.
But the new area doesn’t seem to be the only magical element coming in Arknights: Endfield‘s latest patch. The trailer showcases surreal moments as characters fall through landscapes and float through space. The cause of these phenomena is unclear, but some new and returning operators will arrive to help The Endministrator navigate the mysterious area.
New and old Operators have something to look forward to in “Dreamscape of Wind and Snow.”

“Dreamscape of Wind and Snow” will feature the new six-star character, Typhoeus. She will be familiar to fans of the original Arknights, as the operator was first introduced in that game. A nature striker character, Typhoeus wields a bow and can be seen firing a large number of arrows at foes. She looks like a fun and flashy character to play.
While her play style will catch many eyes, perhaps the most curious thing about her comes from a cinematic moment where she is heard stating, “Amma is always with me.” Given her connection to the original title, one cannot help but wonder if Amma is short for Amiya.
The leader of Rhodes Island was a central figure of the original game, and if it does reference her, is Typhoeus’s statement a metaphorical one, or could players’ favorite bunny girl actually still be kicking this far into the world’s future?
The final striking element of Typhoeus is her voice. With a thick Nordic accent, her voice work draws attention to her dialogue, which stands out against everything we’ve heard previously in the game.
It would be interesting if the character hints at further regional influences for the future of the game. Nordic inspirations are rarely seen in gaming outside of Norse mythological settings, and seeing an interpretation of those cultures outside of that box would be great.
Norse mythology adds a new edge to Arknights: Enfield.

This hope is further fueled by the promise of Nordic inspiration within the update’s soundtrack. Referred to as a “Nordic Electronic Soundscape,” the game is using inspiration from Sámi musical culture and fusing it with JRPG music in the update. They are also collaborating with Finnish electronic musician Vilma Jää (Control Resonant) to create a Nordic folk-electronic theme for the game.
While Typhoeus is the update’s only six-star character, it was revealed that there will also be a new five-star character coming. Purrchena and their signature weapon will both be acquirable through an in-game event. If players complete the event’s six missions, they will also get both the character and weapon at their full potential.
As a physical defender, Purrchena looks like an interesting character. Along with providing protection to allies, he also distributes gifts that can heal or trigger a variety of support effects.
This makes the character sound like a fun addition, but not someone likely to become meta-relevant, making him a good choice for a free giveaway, especially if he isn’t readily available after the event ends. The Purrchena Tribute Event is slated to begin on September 24, 2026.
“Dreamscape of Wind and Snow” brings in the Blight Tide.

Also arriving on September 24th is a new puzzle map that turns an entire map into a puzzle. Based on a 15-minute time loop, players must collect items to save the city of Suiming from the Blight Tide.
When the Blight Tide rises, the time rewinds, but players retain items they’ve found, allowing them to further progress into the city more quickly than before. This sounds like a sort of puzzle-roguelite concept that could prove to deliver a unique and engaging experience.
Along with these major elements, numerous smaller events and quality-of-life improvements are coming as well. A new season of Echoes of War is coming, along with new events Trial of the Bow, Chubby Lung Attacks, and Runners’ Steeplechase as well.
Arknights: Endfield “Dreamscape of Wind and Snow” looks to be setting a new course for the game as it begins to move into its next arc. The update’s official launch early next month will reveal what mysteries and threats await.
