Frontier Developments is releasing Planet Zoo 2 this year, and now it’s showcasing its first animal deep dive episode. Titled “Animal Spotlight,” the new series will break down some of the game’s animals with profiles that explore their unique “true-to-life” behaviors that are making debuts in the upcoming park management sim.
About the first game, we said, “Planet Zoo is a fantastic zoo-building experience, and a game that has this many moving parts while being so in-depth was bound to hit a few bumps. Frontier Developments has already shown from the beta and has continued to show post-launch that they are committed to the quality of this game.”
What can players expect from the African Leopard?

The first in this series is the “stealthy superstar of the Savannah,” the African Leopard. A noted climber, the African Leopard makes full use of vertical habitats. Animal behaviors are the star of the upcoming game, giving players a look at what animals can do as they get ready to have a zoo of their own when the game releases. To get the most out of the African Leopard habitats, players will have to build well-placed climbing platforms, and enrichment items will be rewarded with authentic behaviors.
These stealthy big cats thrive across a diverse range of ecosystems in the Great Rift Valley Reserve, from dense forests and large wetlands, where they typically live solitary lives unless raising cubs.
