Get ready to go knives out when entering the arena. Battlestate Games announces the launch of a special temporary mode, “CheckPoint: Knives Out,” in Escape from Tarkov: Arena.
From June 5 to June 8, players can participate in knife-only battles on the “Fort” and “Bay 5” maps, featuring increased XP multipliers and a unique achievement for completing the newly introduced quest chain.

What is CheckPoint: Knives Out?
Born from a bug encountered by the developers after the release of patch 0.5.1.1, “CheckPoint: Knives Out” restricts players to delivering only melee damage after BattleState Games noticed how much the Tarkov community enjoyed the combat style when the bug was still active. Now, this bug has become an in-game event, allowing players to experiment further with this combat format once more.
Key Features of Checkpoint: Knives Out:
- Combat Rules: Complete restriction on firearms. All participants enter the “Fort” and “Bay 5” arenas equipped exclusively with melee weapons.
- Progress Boost: XP earned in “CheckPoint” mode is doubled (2x), and Battle Pass XP is increased by 1.5 (1.5x) respectively.
- Quests and Rewards: A special chain of 3 quests has been added to the game. Completing the entire chain awards a unique event achievement.
